Wordful Wednesday ~ Easy Peasy Crafty

Wordful Wednesday 411: Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, except WITH words.  It’s for those of us that just cannot be wordless, no matter how much we try.  Add my Wordful Wednesday badge to your post (right side bar under “WW”) if you really want to make me happy, and then add your post link to the linky below. Easy peasy.

Both of my sisters are super-duper crafty.  I like to think that it runs in the family, but it doesn’t.  They have a whole lot more talent than I do.  Take these items for example.  My sister threw together these items for her daughters party and they are INCREDIBLY simple, but I would have never thought of them.  It’s all in the execution!  🙂

Milk Bottles with Sugar on top

This first one is sugar topped glasses.  She used milk bottles (I need to ask her where she purchased them), ran a lime around the rim of the glasses and then stuck them in a shallow bowl of colored sugar.  Viola!  Then she popped in a paper straw and she had the cutest darn glasses ever.  She also made ombre tissue paper flowers that you can see at the edge of the picture.  Here’s the Ombre Tissue Paper Flower Tutorial! {{score}}

And these cupcake sleeves?  Notice that they are peacock feathers?  That was the theme of the party.  She cut them out with her Silhouette machine.  All it took was a few pieces of paper.  So clever.  I would have spent all day going from store to store to store looking for just the right cupcake liner.  Duh!!!!

What side of the crafty camp are you on?

    Those are all so cool! Definitely please find out where she got the milk bottles – I need to get some too! I tend to be on the crafty side – but now I must find out what a silhouette machine is! 🙂

      They are Starbucks Frappuccino bottles. Target has their brand “Market Place” of bottles that you can use as well. After you remove the labels the bottle will be really sticky. (Right now at Target in the dollar section they have a bottle of “Goo Gone” that removes the adhesive.) Hope this helps 🙂

    I hardly have a crafty bone in my body and it’s actually surprising because a lot of the girls in my family are quite creative. Those milk bottle glasses are pretty awesome.

    Ahem…I’m totally on the “other” end of craftiness. I do love to make things, but I’m a copier and not really a creator. Unless you count crochet or photography. 🙂

    I think I fall on the not so crafty end of things, I can be inspired by others, but my own ideas for stuff like this are few and far between.

    I wish I were that crafty… or had to the time to be that crafty!

    I should look for a few things for my daughter’s 11th birthday this weekend!

    Oh I love that, it is pretty and fun!
    I have to look more into this Wordful Wednesday thing. I sent a friend a poem today and wondered….where can I share poems I wrote? Would Wordlful Wednesdays be okay?
