Wordful Wednesday-Halloween 2012

Wordful Wednesday 411: Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, except WITH words.  It’s for those of us that just cannot be wordless, no matter how much we try.  Add my Wordful Wednesday badge to your post (right side bar under “WW”) if you really want to make me happy, and then add your post link to the linky below. Easy peasy.

I know it’s not officially Halloween yet, but lucky for us, we attended a church Halloween Party on Saturday so I was able to get pictures of the kids in their costumes before the Trick-or-Treating frenzy on Wednesday.

For the past few years Grace has done a group costume with their friends.  This year they were rainbow witches and they were ADORABLE.  They all made their own tutu’s, too!

Emma is a cowgirl for Halloween this year.  Good thing those boots I ordered on ebay are getting used!  Ha!

Garrett had his heart set on being a mummy.  No matter what we did, we could not dissuade him.  So, Jeff designed his costume.  He “dirtied” and tied 2″ gauze all over his body.  It was quite the undertaking, but it was worth it.  🙂

Jacob wanted to be a zombie doctor but Jeff ran out of time for the face paint.  Luckily, Jakey is easy going and was happy enough to just be a regular old doctor.

John was a punk rocker.  This costume has been used by Grace and Garrett is years past, so obviously it’s a favorite in these parts.  My favorite was his “mom” tattoo since we all know if you are going to mark up your body you’d better pay homage to your mom.  {laughing}

What did your kids dress up as for Halloween?  What about you? Did you dress up?

  1. They all look great.
    Love it.

  2. Those are all such great costumes. Our girls usually look around in the dress up clothes and pick a princess dress…they are very easy to please.

I can’t decide on a favorite from your crew…it’s like they are all “them!”

  3. Love the costumes!

Sadly, we may have to skip Halloween this year because of the weather… it’s been really cold, windy, and raining/sleeting for a couple days now all thanks to hurricane Sandy. BUT… just in case the weather changes we have a monkey, a 50’s sock hop girl, and Rosie the Riveter!

  4. The kids look great in their costumes. I especially like the mummy one.

  5. So great and creative!! But my fav is probably John’s punk rocker. That nose ring is awesome!! Happy Halloween!!

  6. Love, love, love their costumes, but you know, John’s is my favorite! 🙂 And you’re absolutely right – get a tattoo, it better say “Mom”! LOLOL! Hope you all enjoy your Halloween!

  7. love all their costumes! I just realized that this might be the first and last year I get my kids to wear themed costumes. Next year my older girl might have an opinion on what she wants to dress up as

  8. LOVE the mummy!!!

  9. I LOVE the rainbow witch idea! All of their costumes are outstanding! 🙂

Hopefully trick-or-treat won’t be canceled for this evening since both kids are looking SO forward to it – pesky Sandy has thwarted plans (and our power is still knocked out – thank goodness for an A/C plug in my Hyundai and a long extension cord so I can at least be on my laptop!) 🙂 Princess Nagger is dressing up as Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games) and Little Dude is dressing up as a 3D Lightning McQueen. 🙂 If nothing else I think I’ll dress ’em up just to take pictures! 🙂
