Wordful Wednesday-Soccer Mom

Wordful Wednesday 411: Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, except WITH words.  It’s for those of us that just cannot be wordless, no matter how much we try.  Add my Wordful Wednesday badge to your post (right side bar under “WW”) if you really want to make me happy, and then add your post link to the linky below. Easy peasy.

It’s official.  I’m a soccer mom.

This year instead of just taking my boys to and from soccer practices and games and fulfilling the occasional task of field maintenance I’m the team mom.

I’m shaking my head as I write this.  I’m the team mom for my twins team and Garrett’s team and I did it all on my own.

My philosophy is this:  “if no one else volunteers, then I will“.  Well, this year, no one volunteered, and Here. I. Am.

I’m the Team Mom.  For TWO TEAMS.

What is your volunteering philosophy?

  1. I’m not sure what Team Mom entails, but it sounds kinda intense. You’re brave lady! Good luck with this season!

  2. So busted! I have the same philosophy. I think that train is coming for me soon.

  3. Well, so far I haven’t had to volunteer for any child related activities – yet. But I do volunteer for activities and events I involve myself in (if no one else will): if there’s a possibility that something will get shut down without volunteers, then I raise my hand. 😉

  4. Wow! You’re brave, mama! Those team moms are busy. Good luck!

  5. What’s my volunteering philosophy? “Don’t make eye contact.” When they are staring you down to help, focus on the floor. 😀 I kid. I kid.

  6. Last year, I *simply* had three kids in sports at the same time, and I thought I would go crazy!

  7. As if you didn’t already have enough on your plate! 🙂 I guess that means you aren’t just ‘Team Mom’, but ‘Team Super Mom’. 🙂

  8. I am a hockey mom now.
I’m still wondering what the dress code is….am I supposed to buy a jumpsuit wth my son’s name on the back…in bedazzled glitter?

  9. My volunteering this year is a little crazy…I let hubby volunteer to coach:) That counts, right?

  10. WOW- you have your hands full for sure. It looks like it’s going to be a great season though.

  11. My philosophy used to be do it, do it all! Raise your hand, volunteer for it all (shortly followed by burn out, too tired, too much, can’t do it all by myself). Now? I’m more like you. If it looks like no one else will offer, I’ll offer, but I have to remember what I’ve already signed up for (as we are plagued with lack of parental involvement here I’ll fast forget all that I’ve said yes to).

  12. I can relate. I do the same thing, step up when no one else will. then my plate is too full and I start to get stressed and irritated. that’s why I avoid groups and organized activities like the plague, I won’t be able to help myself from volunteering. but I know once my kids start school and start team sports I’m a dead woman.

  13. Love the photos! I know when my time comes, Ill be team mom 🙂

  14. glad to see i am not the only one with the” if no one else does i will” thoughts…

  15. I am a soccer mom too! My son LOVES it. Luckily I am not the team mom. That might just do me in!

Sorry I am late again. Some day I will get back into blogging in a timely manner!

  16. You are a GOOD mom. I avoid the whole volunteering question by just not showing up for anything. 😉
