I got to visit Riley’s Farm (living history farm) with Emma last week on a field trip. We spent the day re-living the struggle for independence. It was so fun to have history come alive with mock battles, hands-on stations and challenges designed as if we were living during the time of the Revolutionary War.

4th Grade Beginning and End
Sure do! It blows my mind to see how far we have come. I can’t even imagine living back then. We are truly a lucky bunch. Seems like things were so much simpler. Maybe not? lol
How fun! I love the garden. And I am always fascinated by butter churning!
Looks like a wonderful day! I remember a similar field trip when my daughter was in 4th grade to St Augustine. It was a long day on a bus full of kids, but St Augustine was beautiful!

We have a living history farm/museum near us and all of us love to visit! Looks like a super fun day!
We have a few places like this around Michigan and even though I’ve been to them many times I still like going again and again. My kids… not so much.
I love school trips like that and the history lesson they offer. We have a similar village here called Cracker Country.
My parents and 2 of my brothers do this. They get right into the roles. I think it’s great because it gives not only the kids, but adults perspective of what happened. It’s entertaining and educational. WIN
