Reasons 453, 454, 455, 456, & 457 why I love living in Southern CA

Wait.  That’s only one reason.  {And a semi stupid title/idea about how to show you.}

The beach.

I love that we can spend the day soaking up the warm sunshine at the beach in January.

Comments

  1. That looks delightful!!!

We’re still under snow, but I love that too. 🙂

  2. Woo hoo! First in line and first to comment. A first for me. Ha! Beautiful pictures, Angie. I wouldn’t mind escaping the frigid temps for some sun and fun in Ca. We are only four hours from the beach here, but it is in the 30s there. Take care.

  3. We love the beach, too, and it’s only 20 minutes away. The sun is out today, but TOO cold to go to the beach still. It’s 10 degrees Celsius here, which I know is not cold by US standards, but it’s freezing for us here. 🙂

    (Grabbed your button!)

  4. Same reasons why I love living in the Tampa Bay Area! Although, this week has been brutally cold, so maybe that will be next week in Florida. 😀

  5. Isn’t California great?! (Although where I’m at it’s raining right now.)

    Cute photos, as always!

  6. Well that’s quite a contrast to 2+ feet of snow. lol. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach right now! And look how happy everyone looks. And warm. And fun. :0

I want to go to the beach!

  7. I am fiercely jealous of you. Having grown up in California, those are the kinds of winters I appreciate, not the ones I am having to deal with now. I don’t do winter sports (as if I do summer sports or something…) so the snow really doesn’t do much for me.

  8. We heart the beach too! Happy WW to ya!

  9. I know I am from NoCal and seriously the best kept secret is a nice fall or winter {school} day at the beach!! Whenever I visit I am seriously all over those. Cool post.

  10. I. Am. Jealous. The cold is COLD this winter round these parts. If I had beach that close and that warm I would fill up my memory card every other day I’m sure. 🙂

  11. So can I come live with you for a couple of months?! My boys have never even seen the ocean (poor deprived souls!)

  12. You’d think living in So Cal would get me to the beach more often. Too much sand but still…love the mild weather during winter.

  13. Can I just say that I am SO jealous!

  14. Oh how I wish I could be out in the warm sun soaking up those rays! This Texas girl is not use to these cold temps and would give anything for a nice summer day right now.

I pasted your new code in my post but for some reason it is not showing up?!?!

  15. Wow! Lovely pictures, as always.

We’ve had two blizzards in the past month and there is more snow on the ground than I’ve ever seen before. It’s fun, but I could really use a day at the beach!!

  16. Looks like a blast!! Great pics and memories!

  17. Ohmygosh … looking at your photos I’m wondering how close you live to ME since I live at the beach too!!! Wouldn’t it be a small world if we’re ‘neighbors’ in the ‘real’ world? I don’t recognize the climbing equipment and the pier near me has METAL railings so we’re probably not in the same city after all … but at first glance my jaw dropped. I’ve share many beach photos at my Small Reflections site, but my Wordful Wednesday post is at Sacred Ruminations this week.
    Hugs and blessings,

  18. So like, are you a real housewife in the OC?

Sorry. That was a really lame attempt at a joke. Because I’m jealous.

And for some reason your button is not working on my site. Hmmmm. I’m copying and pasting like always.

    • I don’t know what the deal is with my button. It works most of the time, but sometimes it doesn’t. It somehow is temperamental. 🙂

  19. Ahhhh…the warmth!

  20. That looks so nice! And warm!!!

  21. Well we live close to the beach too…but I don’t think you want to go “enjoy” our beaches this time of year!! My toes almost feel warm just looking at those pics….almost…

  22. Great pictures, and mirrors the way the weather can be here in FL in January. Just not now. It’s 34 degrees at the moment!

    Justine 😮 )

  23. Oh so jealous. The weatherman says we’re having a warm week here!

    The high today was 32F.

    Joy.

  24. I am jealous! I lived in California until I was 10 and still have a lot of family there. Luckily we are headed that way in March for my sister’s wedding. We are all very excited and plan to spend at least 2 days at the beach!

  25. just beautiful!!! I love the beach!!!

  26. I am so jealous. JEALOUS!

  27. As I am sitting in my own house freezing – even my toes – I am still grateful that you live in a nice warm place that you love so much. Thanks for the beach visual and letting me pretend I was there for a minute. 😉

  28. Thanks for the small poke in the eye there.. it’s been warm here lately *weird* but not like we are heading to the beach or anything! Sheesh…

    TY btw.

  29. SoCal is great! I used to live there and I miss the weather and all the fun things there are to do all the time.

  30. OHHHHH so jealous. Week three of snow and temps in the teens! Tomorrow is a warm day and it should reach 35 ;-)!

  31. Oh, how I love Southern California!!

Great job, Angie… You got me craving a road trip! lol

  32. Beautiful photos. We have snow and I am beyond thrilled!

  33. I was born and raised in Southern Cal and sometimes miss it especially when I see pictures like these!

  34. great pics would love to see SC some day …after I see Australia all over =)

  35. Ohhh how beautiful! I don’t blame you for loving where you live!

  36. You suck. LOL I’m still hoping/praying/wishing/dreaming you’ve got room for me, too, in that fancy schmancy house ‘o yours. *cough*

  37. Now I want to go to California…

  38. beautiful! this is exactly what my post is about! I love living in so-cal too!

  39. Oh California is one of my favorites places!
South Padre Island, TX it is small but still FUN!!!
    ☼¨`*•.♥【ツ】♥.•*¨`☼

  40. Ahh the good life in So Cal huh? I followed suit as well and posted one of my favorite reasons I love Living in So Cal!

  41. The beach is just beautiful and I do love to take the kids (I’m more of an off-season beach goer, since NJ beaches tend to be MOBBED in the summer)

Right now, we’re getting used to winters in the mountains aka snow, snow and more snow. OIY!

  42. Great pics! The beach looks awesome, it’s been pretty cold here lately!

  43. Oh that beach and that sun looks sooooooo good. Must be nice to enjoy that beautiful beach weather in January.

  44. You and I think alike – I’ve been posting a bunch of “beach in January” issues lately too – including today :).

  45. Nice! It has been so cold here that our snowman from an entire month ago still has not melted.

  46. Nice! I could use some sun right about now! The pics are so bright and cheery. So fun! =)

  47. I was there this summer and loved it!

I’m so sorry my link #68 was not directly linked to my post so I posted again as 70. You may delete the other one. I had some technical difficulites:)

  48. That is a great reason! Although our winters are very mild, we are far far away from the beach. Currently of course, we are in mid summer!

  49. Gorgeous!

We have one of those climbing “things” at our park and my boys LOVE it.

  50. I think I take my Lake Michigan for granted just like you take your ocean for granted! It sure is beautiful in So Cal!

  51. WOW! I could use some of that sunshine!

  52. We are in So. Cal too! Nice pics!

  53. So I’ll post some of my snow pix to counterbalance your beach pix. 😉 I’m just thrilled we finally GOT some!

  54. The windchill this morning is -22C here in Canada. :o(

  55. Wow, I would love to be at the beach in January. Unfortunately ours is covered with snow:)

  56. We have snow on the ground!

  57. TINA - MUMMY DIARIES says

I can see why you like it so much. Its beautiful.

We have horrible snow here at the moment!! I think im coming over there instead lol 😉

  58. Thanks for warming me up with those excellent shots! And making me wish I lived there… 😉

  59. It’s so beautiful there! We visited over the summer and loved how it was warm but not too hot. And brrr..I’m freezing. You are seriously making me want to move!

  60. I would love some of that sunshine and warmth right now!

  61. I am SO totally jealous : ) But I still think you are super awesome! It is blindingly cold here in Pennsylvania! They told us it is going to be warming up though by Friday. Warming up to 34 degrees….

  62. HOOTIN' ANNI says

    I LOVE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TOO!!!

Mine is sunshine on my shoulder…a pelican’s shoulder that is. come see, mine too is beautiful. At least I think.

    SUNSHINE ON MY SHOULDER

  63. That is gorgeous!

  64. and why do I live in Michigan?

  65. The beach in January looks awesome. I had someone email me if I would move to LA for a jobabd after seeing your WW I would have to say yes.

    Happy WW!

  66. I would love some of that Sun right now!

  67. Looks very inviting!

  68. How relaxing!! Looks like a great place to live!

  69. I think I could get used to that too:-)

  70. I want to be some place warm..

  71. What I wouldn’t give for some beach weather right about now. Instead it’s 28 degrees out. Brrrr!

  72. Gorgeous!!

We’re finally visiting in July – I can’t wait! Lucky you for actually living there. You must have been very, very good in a previous life 🙂

    • How fun. What are you doing while you are here?

      • We’ve got friends in Manhattan Beach, so various beachside stuff – yeah! Plus Legoland, etc. I’m ashamed to admit this, but I’ve never been to California, so everything and anything is going to be such fun.

  73. We are buried with snow right now…So those pictures look WONDERFUL!!!

  74. Can I just say how jealous I am?! I would LOVE to be at the beach…heck, even seeing the sun shining now would be a step in the right direction!

P.S. I couldn’t get your button to show up on my post. The html is there but nothing is showing up in my actual post. I tried copying & pasting again to make sure, but it still isn’t showing. Any suggestions?

  75. Yes Ma’am! One of the highlights of my Southern California childhood!

    Blessings!

  76. As I write this, I’m still shivering from the 12 degree weather outside. Turns out that Ohio is much colder than expected and I am INCREDIBLY jealous of your post. Our next family move had better be to California. At this point, I don’t care if we have to live all 5 of us in a one bedroom apartment. I want the beach, the sun… the sweet California living!

    • It only took moving to MA to realize how great the weather is here. When we moved from ORegon we downsized by about 1/2, but since you can be outside all the time it doesn’t bother me. 🙂

  77. Wow, my pictures are just the opposite of yours. Snow & Sledding. I love the pics of the beach. I wish I were there right now.

  78. Please quit bragging about your sunshine.
(She says while looking out at her snow covered yard.)

  79. Well … it was sunny YESTERDAY at the beach in Southern California, but it’s delightfully drizzily this morning 😉
    Hugs and blessings,

  80. Do you mean to tell me that it isn’t raining where you are? I am trying to figure out what to do with my kids while the thunderstorms are raging outside my door today.

Sometimes I think Northern and Southern California could very well be separate states. Not that I am jealous or anything. 🙂

  81. Beautiful pics!

  82. Preeeeetty!!!! Man, what I’d give to be on that beach right about now… it’s 24 degrees here. Brrrrrr!!!

  83. this would be reason number 100000000 why i hate you people who do not have snow on the ground and have the beach. i’m soooo jealous. but i still really love you…but jealous i am!

  84. look like great reasons to me much warmer as well

  85. My sister in law lives there and rubs it in my face how much she is wearing shorts and tanks while I’m freezing my tush off! 🙂

I love CA weather. I’m more geared for that weather being an island girl and all 🙂

    Enjoy the fun. sun.

  86. MommyNamedApril says

nice!!! looks like a lot of the reasons we like Florida 😀 Although, right now it is seriously unseasonably COLD.
