Wordful Wednesday-{Parenting By Dummies Guest Post}

Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, only WITH words. It’s for those of us that can’t contain the chatter, but in a good way. More info. in my tabber box titled WW on the right.

{I’m wondering if an introduction is even necessary?  I’m thinking that most of you are already familiar with my friend, author extraordinar at Parenting By Dummies. When making the Wordful rounds, I invariably find that she has already stopped by.  She’s that great!}

I started blogging 20 months ago (I like to track my blog age in months because it makes my blog sound younger, thereby giving you fewer expectations about how awesome it should be.  Successful blogging is about trickery and bribery people, that is all!).

I didn’t plan to start a thriving and amazing community for moms to enjoy, so I didn’t.  But I really had no ideas or preconceived notions about where I wanted my blog to go or what I wanted it to be.

No branding.

No editorial calendar.

Just me, my quick wit and charming personality a couple of marginally funny stories about motherhood, and The Dudes.

Tons of pictures of The Dudes who are really my only selling point as people come over just to soak up their cuteness.

Really I’d just read some mom blogs that I liked and decided I wanted to copy them share my stories too.

Angie is someone I wanted to copy who inspired me.

20 months ago, when my blogging community consisted of me, Mimi, and BFF, I stumbled across Wordful Wednesday and got hooked.

Angie and her sweet little meme quickly became the monkey on my blogging back.

I don’t think I’ve missed a WW in months (maybe 20).

So being here, today, with WW in Angie’s big top is huge, people.

H-U-G-E.

So, I decided to shake things up.

This summer I’ve been sharing tons of shots of The Dudes swimming…

But this is my chance to prove that we do other stuff too.

I don’t just lounge at the lake/pool and doze off while they swim unattended snap shots of them enjoying water play.

We do other crap too.

Like take educational trips to the farm so I can stuff my pie hole with farm fresh ice cream they can learn about the farming community in which we reluctantly live.

They go for the experience…

And the friendship…

I go for the cow on cow action, and like I already said, the best ice cream this side of the Mason Dixon line (although admittedly, I’m not 100% sure which side I’m currently on?!)…

And the joyful boy smiles.  Can’t forget those…

Want more boy-filled fun?!

Come by parenting BY dummies any day of the week.

The Dudes are always there, even if we’re not ALWAYS having fun!

  7. Oh my goodness…how CUTE are your boys feeding those little cows?!?

  8. Happy little kids and happy little cows. 🙂

  9. I’ve been enjoying your quick wit for a while now, about 20 months. If I really loved cows, then the kissing (?) picture would be totally cool (it still is cool). Since I’m not, I’ll just enjoy the cool pictures of your boys. I love the one of your son feeding the cow and also of your little one wanting to, but hesitating to pet the cow.

  10. Always glad to read a Parenting by Dummies post! Glad to see you and your darling little men here!

  11. The dudes are so cute. And your wit is too!

  28. What fun pictures. I think the cow on cow comment and photo was great. 🙂

  29. The pictures are gorgeous, and it looks like such a fun time!

  30. I love the one with the dude feeding the baby cow the bottle, he looks so intent, like he has been doing it for years! great story telling in pictures!

  31. I love Parenting by Dummies! I don’t stop by often enough, definitely one of my favorites to read.

  32. Mmmm, ice cream.
    I love PBD!

  33. They are so adorable, they really are, and I love that y’all are always having fun.

  34. looks like so much fun!

  35. How lucky your little boy was that he actually got to give one of the baby cows a bottle! They looked like they had so much fun. My daughter had as much fun eating her ice cream pop at the end of a recent trip to a local dairy farm (it was not quite as cool as the one you guys visited) as she did making friends with the cows.

  36. The Dudes AND Cows…doesn’t get any better than that! 😉

  37. jejeje love all the pictures full of FUN!!
you have una familia muy bonita!!!
    Lovely family!

  38. It must be great fun feeding cows. My boys have yet to visit a farm as there aren’t any around here.

  39. Love your pictures and your boys are adorable!!!

Glad I found your blog! I’m your new follower!

  40. Lauren @ Hobo Mama says

That was hilarious! The picture with the huge cow bottle was precious. But I love the hot cow-on-cow action, too.

  41. What a great guest post. I love taking my Little Miss to see the farm animals too. Great pics by the way. Oddly enough, I featured a pic of hers with a farm animal on my post today too, although it was taken at the zoo.

  42. Hi Angie! Thanks for having me today. Hope we didn’t mess the place up too badly with your messy farm feet:)! It was fun. I NEVER want to actually live on a farm, because the smell and the work and stuff. But, as I sit here typing this and watching Cho Cho Train Soul in the other room, I’ve decided that’s what I wanna do; be on Cho Cho Train Soul. Seriously, I would rock that show. Except for the fact that I can’t actually sing…

  43. I ADORE the photo of the cows kissing, as well as feeding the cow a bottle.

  44. That looks like a ton of fun too! But I don’t mind the lake/pool pics either.

  45. Fantastic Shots!! Nice to meet you. Off to go check out your blog. =D

  46. Great photos! Oh how I love parenting by dummies! I worship at the altar of her bloggie awesomeness!

  48. Want to know a secret? I have a special place in my heart for baby cows…I grew up on a farm and bottled fed all the little cow babies as I call them! Love this guest post! Wonderful pictures!

  49. cows makeout? I never thought of it before..weird. Maybe one was trying to get some food out of the other one’s mouth. Very interested. Love your photography!

    • Yeah. That’s all they were doing. The whole barn of them lick each other’s faces after they eat to get the extra milk off. You’d think they were starving the poor babies they were so excited by the milk! But I like to think of it my way better!

  50. Such a great post and the pictures are just great! Thanks for sharing!

  51. Great shots. These moments will stick with them forever. What a life experience!

  52. Susie's Homemade says

    Great shots!!

  54. Love it! So great to experience the farming life!

    Blessings!

  55. Lol, love this post. I’m definitely going to check out her blog.

Thanks for the linky and happy WW!

    Great pics 🙂

  60. I love it! Wonderful series of photos!

  61. What amazing photo’s!! I posted a WW about the farm too this week! Too cute! First time here and so happy to meet you and your beautiful depiction of your lovely life!!

  62. Wow- those farm pictures are INCREDIBLE! And those two sweet cows? Extra wow.

  63. Love these photos. I used to be reluctant about our agricultural community, but now I love that we have access to fresh food and our children are learning to be sustainable by growing their own crops and raising their own livestock. It’s pretty cool!

  64. Liz @ Peace, Love and Guacamole says

Killer smile on that boy! Love it!

  65. Wow!! Those pictures are incredible! I love me some Dumb Mom! xoxo

  71. Ah, farm fun! You are hilarious mama!

  72. LOL I love it!! The cows kissing…or whatever they’re doing…is hilarious!! You’re too funny!!

  78. Too cute! We were just at the state fair this week (actually there are pics in my link up from there) and we saw our share of farm animals! My 3 year old loved it. And of course the baby is just happy to tag along where ever we end up 😉

  79. This is my first Wordful Wednesday blog hop. I can never really just put up a picture without explanation, so thank you for this clever blog hop.

  80. We live in America’s Dairyland, so I must always comment on cow pictures. I’m pretty sure it is the law here. Adorable kids. Adorable calves.

  81. What awesome photos! I love the simplicity and genuine awe in children’s faces as they discover the world around them.

  82. Wow, fantastic weblog layout! How long have you been running a blog for?
you make blogging look easy. The overall look of your
