Wordful Wednesday-{Nostalgia}

Now that summer is officially here with the kidlets all out of school and all, I’m feeling a little nostalgic.

My babies have GROWN, and I’m not at all sure that I’m totally OK with that. ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, only WITH words. Itโ€™s for those of us that canโ€™t contain the chatter, but in a good way. More info. in my tabber box titled WW on the right. Thank you for playing along!

Donโ€™t forget to hop on over to my co-hostย Amandaโ€™s placeย (Parenting By Dummies) to see what she has to be Wordful about today!

Psst….I’m having a Summer Jewelry Giveaway {$120}ย that you don’t want to miss. ย  Provided by Twisted Silver, the necklace and earrings are so hip and wearable!

  1. I so get this sweet friend! Squeeze those babies tight! XO

  2. Oh my! They really have grown, haven’t they? Where does the time go?!?

  3. Good luck with this?! I must be sick in the head or something cuz I LOVE watching my kids grow up? Maybe I’m selfish? Cuz man I love when the stages move on.. no more diapers. They can buckle themselves in a car seat. You know?? I’m even okay with the moody tweener right now..

  4. my oldest will be 5 soon. Where did the years go? She’ll be in school next year!

    Arrggghhh

  5. Where does the time go? They really have grown up since that picture!

  6. They get big fast, don’t they? I can’t believe I have a kindergartner this year!

  7. Aww yep they are growing up. Tomorrow is our last day of school.

  8. I know that feeling! They are just as adorable, and getting cuter and more beautiful!

  9. So true. They do grow up fast and I don’t think any of us are every ready for it.

  10. What a sweet family photo! I don’t have kids yet but I feel like that looking at my nieces and nephew. They just grow up so fast!

  11. It’s weird that some kids are just starting summer break. My daughter has been out of school for 2 1/2 weeks already.

  12. I’m totally not okay with my kids growing up so I can relate.

  13. it sounds like you want another baby? ๐Ÿ˜€
    lovely picture of lovely family!

  14. I know what you mean. *sobs*

  15. Are we ever really ready for them to grow up?

  16. I sit on both sides of the fence. I MISS having babies so much… little cloth diapers hanging on the line (I loved this irrationally)… nursing, snuggling them while they sleep… all that. BUT I love them getting older too. Mine both mastered showering without my help this past week and it is so nice to not have to wash hair, or even turn the water on/off. I’m just going to have to have a baby, so I can enjoy all the stages over again. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  17. ๐Ÿ™‚ And why are you not sure that you are OK with that?

  18. I am right there with ya on that feeling ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. First time stopping by your blog! Participating in your blog hop. Look forward to reading more. Yay for summer and fun times w/ your kids!!

  20. Your family is so beautiful….even if the kids are growing up! ; )

  21. Look at those sweet little faces! Where does the time go?!

  22. How does it all go so fast? I couldn’t agree with you more. Last year I was carrying around a baby and this summer he’s running around. I need a pause button.

  23. Oh boy! But what a beautiful family you have ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. I can SO empathize! Princess Nagger is moving from her room that’s connected to ours into what was the guest room and will now be her room – why must they grow so fast?? LOVE that picture! ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. Makes me wish that I still had a summer break!

  26. Believe me when I say I know exactly how you feel, tell them to stop doing that… please!

  27. It does make you a little weepy, huh?

  28. My kid’s grow up a little more every day and it drives me crazy. One day not too long ago I woke up and realized my son wasn’t a baby anymore. What to do? No baby! I know … have another baby, okay maybe it wasn’t a conscious decision, but boy am I grateful for the Little Miss, and I know she will be a teen-ager before I know it. Her brother is almost there.

Pictures are the best way to preserve our kids and keep them that way, at least for a moment.

  29. I tell my boy almost every day ” All the growing? Stop it”. He normally laughs, throws a toy at my head, or wets his pants. Something tells me that we don’t have an agreement ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. Sigh. My babies are graduating from college, I mean Kindergarten in an hour. I’m so not OK with it. Weren’t we just talking about potty training and first words?!

  31. Gosh, they have grown! I don’t think I understood how much the expression “they grow up so fast” meant until I had kids of my own! Wonderful pictures.

PS only 9 days left for my Smile Project on my blog to make a difference in the lives of some wonderful children. For each comment on any of my blog posts (posted from May 15-June24), I will donate $1 to Operation Smile and Smile Train in honor of Will’s cleft palate repair on June 24th. Thanks, Angie for your support already, but feel free to keep commenting up to June 24th! Every comment counts on giving some very deserving kids the gift of a SMILE!

  32. I know what you mean! My son is going into high school next year. High School!!

  33. I’m with you! Hunter started potty training last week and while I thought he might not be ready, I was the one who wasn’t ready. He’s taken to it pretty well. He also seems to have gone from sentences to full paragraphs to speaking in “pages” all in a week. And he looks older, too! I blame the potty training. It’s all my fault. I wish I could stop time and hold him in this adorable, cuddly phase FOREVER.

You have a beautiful family, btw. Good job, Mama!

  34. I just found this site! Just saying hello!

  35. I am not really ok with my babies growing up either. It is a struggle for me ๐Ÿ™‚

  36. They are so little!! I know exactly how you feel!

  37. I am working on a shrinking machine to keep them small. I am also hoping it works on butts. I will keep you posted.

  38. I have been so nostalgic too lately! Looking at old pictures of my “babies”. *sigh* I wish they were still little.
You guys are such a cute family! XO

  39. What a sweet family. ๐Ÿ™‚

  40. I am totally not ok with it…

  41. i am not okay with how fast time flies!!!!
my baby is growing so fast too…
can we slow it down a little?
    PLEASE

  42. I know what you mean!! The past summers of ultra-organization getting everyone off to camp, etc., so they could be supervised are past. For all the frenzy, it seems weird just toodling off to work every morning with no one to “arrange.” ๐Ÿ™

  43. Oh I so know what you mean – it seems like only a week or two goes by between the start of a school year and all of a sudden it’s over, and my kids are a whole year older! My youngest starts kindergarten in the fall and I’m in denial that she’s growing up. ๐Ÿ™‚

  44. you have a beautiful family!! enjoy your time together this summer!!

  45. Hey Angie!

Been a while since I’ve posted / commented. I’ve been MIA as of late, but am trying to catch up. What better way than w/Wordful Wednesday? Took your lead on it this week and did a summer vacation / senti post.

  46. Great pic! Time flies when you’re having fun! Or mostly fun? ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Summer!

  47. hi Angie ๐Ÿ™‚
Sometimes I can’t believe my kids are old enough to be married and giving me grand children. But they are. And have. :-D!!!

Thanks for providing a way for this grandma to show off her blessing!

  48. No kids for me yet. But it does make me a little sad to see how fast my nieces and nephewes are growing up.

  49. What a beautiful family you have Angie!
