Wordful Wednesday-I’m a Sucker for Botanical Gardens

I love, love, love visiting Botanical Gardens, and this one in Balboa Park in San Diego is no exception.  My children actually liked visiting, too.  I’m not sure if we just lucked out that day or if the lilly pond with koi leading up to the indoor garden was a factor.  Whatever it was, I’m not complaining.

Do you have any local botanical gardens you’d recommend?

Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, only WITH words. It’s for those of us that can’t contain the chatter, but in a good way. More info. in my tabber box titled WW on the right. Thank you for playing along!

Don’t forget to hop on over to my co-host Amanda’s place (Parenting By Dummies) to see what she has to be Wordful about today!

Those are absolutely beautiful. I have a purple lotus tattooed on my back and it looks just like the ones in your photos!
We have Kanapaha Botanical Gardens here, and they are gorgeous as well.

It sure is beautiful there. We have some here, but I’ve never been! And, since it’s a million degrees right now, I don’t think we’ll be headed there any time soon.

That’s gorgeous. I don’t think we have anything like that, you know, you can only look at so many different varieties of cactus and desert grasses before your kids mutiny…

Beautiful pictures. I love how you captured the pink of the flowering lily pads. We have the Morton Arboretum, in Illinois, that I just love! Nothing like a beautiful day … with the kids! -Laverne

    Gorgeous photos, mama!

I love botanical gardens too! We have a few pretty ones here. My favorite is Bok Tower over in Lake Wales, FL. That’s a gorgeous day trip. If you are over this way again, you should definitely visit it.

those orchids are so pretty! my younger son & dil live in the San Diego area & we have visited twice (travel across county is so expensive!) and we did visit Balboa Park. I do not remember seeing too much of the gardens. we tried to fit in so much in one day. we did see the museum of torture through the ages (don’t remember the real name)… chills!
