Wordful Wednesday ~ 4th of July Recap

Wordful Wednesday 411: Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, except WITH words.  It’s for those of us that just cannot be wordless, no matter how much we try.  Add my Wordful Wednesday badge to your post (right side bar under “WW”) if you really want to make me happy, and then add your post link to the linky below. Easy peasy.

I think I’m probably the only person on the planet with a 4th of July recap without fireworks.  The truth is that I left my phone at home when we left to watch the fireworks, but honestly, I doubt that I would have been able to get a good shot of them anyway.  I’ve tried and tried to get a good shot of the recent eclipse and it was an utter failure.  Then we had this amazing full moon.  Again.  Big bust.  So, maybe it’s a good thing I left the camera at home.

I did however get a few random shots of a few of my kids and things I “looked” at during the day, which consisted of swimming and relaxing with Jeff and the kids.  The weather was mild.  We had power and air conditioning.  We were lucky.

I love to see pictures of your kids, Angie, and your home always looks so inviting. I didn’t get good shots of fireworks either so by try #3 I just gave up. I wish there was a rule that people can’t shoot them past a certain hour, though, because it’s no fun when a 2 yr old wakes up from the noise, screaming about “the fire.”

Love that grin and way to go on all the artsy shots :).

PS I’m swooning over your patio – love what you’ve done with it (and seriously jealous of all the shade, ours is brutal this time of year!).

    Teresha says

we missed out on fireworks this year because we were busy packing plus it was 100+ degrees in the shade in TX so I’ll relive the celebration through your awesome photos

Love those relaxing days at home!

If it makes you feel better, I forgot to look at the presets I needed for fireworks pics and mine didn’t really turn out!

The shots of your son in the towel are just precious. What a gorgeous smile!

I busted my camera lens a few weeks ago. You should see my trying to capture all my Kodak moments while manually focusing. Good times. 😛

We don’t have fireworks pics either… My daughter fell asleep before we could get there lol.

Your son is so cute! And those are some gorgeous flowers!!

No great fireworks pics on my entry either…lol

Is that your backyard? Love that patio and oh how I miss our pool from when we lived in NJ. The heat was brutal in the midwest (and everywhere else, but your neck of the woods, it seems) on the 4th!

As always, love your pics 🙂
