If you are wondering what do make for your team with Your AYSO Team Banner at the End of the Season, then this tutorial might be right up your alley. It’s super simple to make a wall or door hanger for each team member with the Team Banner! AYSO banners can’t be re-used and it’s traditional for each player to get a piece of the banner, but it’s also nice to get the piece presented in a way that might actually get displayed. This idea uses a wooden dowel and ribbon to make a wall or door hanger with the team members name on it!
Supplies Needed to Make Wall Hanger:
- AYSO banner
- Scissors to cut banner
- ruler/straight edge {if you want straight lines}
- 3/16″ x 12″ Wood Dowels {purchased at Michael’s}
- Ribbon – I used two types. One was a soccer printed ribbon, one a solid colored ribbon {purchased at Michael’s}
- Hot glue gun & glue
- Small wood clothes pins {from Michael’s found near wood dowels}
Directions for Wall Hanger from AYSO Team Banner:
One: Draw lines of where you want to cut each individual wall hanger.
Two: Cut each section.
Three: Tie solid colored ribbon onto wood dowel.
Four: Hot Glue top banner onto dowel.
Five: Cut and tie secondary ribbon onto banner.
Six: Add small wood clips.
Seven: Present to team members at end of season party.
*I did not come up with this idea. I just copied it. #3’s team mom did this a few years ago for his team.

I’m still trying to figure out how to do this. We have the white cotton banner with the airbrushed writing. Although, our party is tonight.
