Wordful Wednesday ~ Tide Coldwater Party Preview + Twitter Party

Wordful Wednesday 411: Wordful Wednesday is like Wordless Wednesday, except WITH words.  It’s for those of us that just cannot be wordless, no matter how much we try.  Add my Wordful Wednesday badge to your post (right side bar under “WW”) if you really want to make me happy, and then add your post link to the linky below. Easy peasy.

I have been one busy bee.

I was LUCKY enough be asked to host a #TideColdwater party to help spread the word about how amazing it would be if we all started washing our clothes in cold water {rather than warm or hot}.  If you look in my right had side side bar I have an info graphic that shows how much energy we would save individually and collectively if we did this and it’s downright astounding! Just a small change {washing laundry in cold water} can make such a HUGE change in energy consumption!   Better for the environment, clean clothes and more money in your wallet from saved energy is one big SCORE!

Tide Coldwater Party

Anyway.  The party.  It was so much fun.  A ton of work, but a lot of fun.  And since this past week (and more) has been all about the party, for Wordful Wednesday I wanted to give you a sneak peak before the “official” party post goes live.  That post is going to have the “professional” shots of the party done by The Vintage Poppy, but for today, you get my Instagram photos, and one of hers, too.

  1. We are doing so much in our home to reduce energy consumption. It is amazing how little things like switching your laundry detergent really add up to big savings. Your party looks like it was so much fun & those cupcakes…delicious!!

  2. I saw the pictures on Instagram and loved the cupcakes!! Especially the bubbles on top of them! What were they made out of?

Oh… I always try to use cold water when I do laundry. Unless it’s towels/sheets…. those need hot water.

  3. What? That is the coolest party! I love everything about it. 🙂

  4. oooh wish i was going to be home to join in as i was the big winner last time! Have fun!!

  5. Looks like it was a fun party! I’ll be honest, I still wash in warm and hot water. I’ve heard that washing in cold is just as effective. I’ll have to do a trial run and see how it works. I’d be willing to switch to cold to save money if it still effectively cleaned clothes.

  6. Those cupcakes look so cool!

In the summer I actually dry my clothes outside on a clothesline. We save a lot of money by not having to run the dryer!

  7. I’m a big fan of the cold wash. The only thing I wash in hot is diapers. Though my husband thinks I’m so completely nuts, cause he thinks everything needs to be washed in hot. That’s why I’m the laundry fairy at our house.

And I’ve got to agree. Those cupcakes are SO cute!

  8. The party looks so fun. The cupcakes are adorable. Thanks so much for featuring my post!

  9. Love the dirty laundry party! 😀 Seriously though, the favors and the Tide themed food is so clever. Can’t wait to see the rest of the photos!

  10. Forget the gift cards, I want to win those cupcakes! If I can keep my eyes open at 9 pm I’ll hop on the Twitter party line

  11. Wow! This party looks fantastic!! You have got to be one of the best party planners I know….you do such a great job with these.

ps We’re out of detergent…you have any extra bottles of Tide laying around to send me? They’re my favorite!

  12. looks like a great party 🙂
    did you make those cupcakes??

  13. That is so awesome. I love tide products. Your cupcakes came out adorable!

  14. What a great idea! I have used Tide for years but have never tried the Tide Cold water. Im very interested to see how it actually works. Looking forward to the party post!

  15. Those cupcakes are so COOL! (as long as they don’t taste like detergent….lol).

  16. Ok the party looks amazing but I’m sad to admit I had no idea using only cold water would reduce energy consumption! So…now that I know, obviously I’ll start doing that. Thank you!

  17. What a fun looking party. I love the “bubbles” on the cupcakes! Thanks for sharing.

  18. What an awesome party! Love the bubbles. I have been washing cold for ages. Can’t wait to see everyone tonight on twitter!

  19. That looks like SO much FUN!! 🙂

  20. Looks like “loads” of fun! Get it?!? Loads? I crack myself up… and yes, cold water all the way. Unless there is a pee pee accident, then well… 😉

  21. So I’m thinking you’re middle name is Martha?
    Dana

  22. The party was way too much fun. Who doesn’t like an excuse to get together for lunch?! Thanks for the tips on saving energy too. I will try and wash more in cold water. It’s amazing what that amount of energy can do for the world.
