Taylor Swift Concert

Every once in awhile my real life friends ask me about blogging.

They ask me questions like, “are you like, a professional blogger?

I answer something like,

“Why yes.  Yes I am.”  Even if I don’t know what a professional blogger is.  But I figure, if I’m not sure, then they surely must not be either and I’m safe.”

Do you have to blog every day?”

“Like contractually?”

Why no.  No I don’t.  And if you read my blog then you’d know that“.  But don’t worry.  I don’t keep track of all the people that are near and dear to me that don’t give a lick about what I write.

Are you worried about weirdos tracking your amazingly beautiful children down?

“It’s interesting that you only worry about my children.  Does this omission of ME mean you don’t think weirdos would be interested in stalking me?  Because, someone MIGHT be interested in stalking me.  Maybe.  But, to answer your question about my children:  Sometimes.   Sometimes I worry.  I mean, my children are certainly the most gifted and special children on the planet, however, I think that people are scared by their level of perfection which makes them less desirable.  So, I don’t worry the way I’m sure most people worry. :)”

Now, I’m sure that at this point in my narrative you are wondering WHAT this has to do with the Taylor Swift concert.

Let me tell you.

Even though I broadcast my life and children on my blog, I don’t generally post about my real life extended family or friends.

I’m territorial that way.  I like to keep them all to myself.

With that being said, I should tell you that I have some incredible real life friends (no, I don’t live my life behind my computer) and we do real life fun things.  Like take our daughters to Taylor Swift Concerts because we know that it’ll be a highlight of their year.  And, although I’d love to show you pictures of my real life friends and their offspring, I can’t.  Because it’s against my rules.

What I can tell you though is that Taylor Swift puts on a great show.  And, she’s cute as a button.

That watching a concert from one’s private suite is the WAY to go.

That I have some really good and generous friends and they have nice children that are a pleasure to be around.

And that taking a gaggle of tweens to their first concert is amazingly enjoyable.

And I leave you with this:

Miss. Cute-as-a-button herself…..

Taylor Swift

And,

Grace and Me all geared up for a late night at the Staples Ctr.

`I’m playing along with Cecily’s Photo Story Friday and Lolli’s Give me your best shot.  Because Really, these are my best shots from that night, and I did have a story to tell.  🙂

  1. Are you absolutely sure you’ve had five children? Because you look AMAZING!! Seriously, I haven’t had any kids and I wish I looked that good!

  3. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to follow your blog, but I am now! Oh, and also just found out you’re going to BBC in Phx. That might have something to do with me following you now. But I can’t be sure! 🙂

  4. That last shot is awesome and I bet it was just a wonderful mother/daughter outing.

Interesting – many of my friends and family don’t read my blog either. And I actually created it for them to stay informed of our happenings. It makes me feel better that a “professional” is not necessarily followed by her live friends.

  5. YOU are cute as a button! And I bet the night was fabulous!

  6. I love this post, esp the part about the “real” life people not really getting the whole blogging thing (or reading for that matter. what is that????)

Anyway, it sounds and looks like a perfect night and such a wonderful experience for you to get to share with your daughter 🙂

  7. You win the cool mom of the year award. Seriously. Taylor Swift and a private suite? Awesome! And I do concur with the other comments, Ang. You look amazing. You have only grown more beautiful over the years! How does that happen after five kids??? 🙂

  8. I am still jealous about you being able to go to TS! She is cute as a button!

And I agree, I think I stalk you and not your children…I mean that is what being a follower is right? =)

  9. How fun! Glad that you all had a good time.
I have a daughter who would love to see her (well and Justin Beiber) but given where we live I don’t see that happening in the near future. Course her mom would enjoy a concert too. I went to Brad Paisley before he was BIG in a small concert in Vegas and my husband was going to take me to Garth Brooks, but I went to visit my mom instead to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary….. choices, huh?!

  10. Very fun! Cute photos of both of you!

Yes, I worry about the whole privacy thing with my blog, that is why it is invite only, but I wanted to stay in touch with family and friends. Anyway, not many pass by anymore, my family has pooped out on blogging, but I justify my time now, saying that it is family history and that some day I will figure out how to print it into a book……some day.

  11. LuckY!

  12. I’m pretty sure you quoted me, so as a ‘professional blogger’ I was wondering if you shared any royalties with the those who help provide your material? “Do you have to blog everyday, like contractually?” I think that might have been my inspired contribution :)! All I can say is I concur with with everything you said….what a blast we had! Taylor…private seating….and the cutest and sweetest bunch of tweens I know! How are we ever going to top that? Rest assured I’ll keep trying to figure it out!! Nice pictures by the way……it looks like we could give Taylor a big kiss!

  13. I promise to never stalk your children. I barely want the ones I already have some days.

  14. I love Taylor Swift! She’s one of the few girls left who is still an appropriate role model for my daughters.

  15. You definitely made her year!

  18. I don’t blog about my friends either but that is because they don’t live in Susie’s Home so they can’t be Susie’s Homemade:-)

  19. Oh, I bet the girls LOVED it!

We had the opportunity to see a show in a private suite and yes, it IS the way to go. Not Taylor, but Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, and others. It was an amazing experience. Now, dh had a different job where that is no longer a perk. 🙁

  20. I love Taylor Swift. She seems so genuine. Glad you had a blast

  21. What a fun date night for you…glad you got to get out with your (unseen) friends.

  22. What a cool mom you are! I love the pics!

  23. First off, I hate to point out the obvious, but your friends are mistaken. You are not merely a blogger…you are a *journalist*. You even have the e-mails to prove it. I suggest printing out said documentation and doing a read aloud whenever necessary.

Secondly, you do have a stalker. Her name is Fran and she is utterly fabulous, albeit a bit crazy, but a fun gal nonetheless. Feel free to pass my name and photo around your inner circle.

    • Thank you for the reminder that I am a *journalist* with documentation to prove it. And for being a stalker. I’ve always wanted one, and one that if fabulous is even better. 🙂 Don’t worry. I’ve already passed out your picture and resume to my inner circle. MONTHS ago.

  24. I think that is a really great rule. Now you have me thinking about if I post pictures etc of my friends etc.

Wonderful picture of the concert and adorable of you and Grace.

  25. How fun! I would have loved for my parents to take me to a concert when I was younger. I didn’t go to my first concert until I met Anthony.

  27. What a cute thing to do. Concerts can really leave an impression on kids, too. I’ll never forget when my dad took my to see Kiss; I was 5. Kidding! But they did take me to see Debbie (never Deborah!) Gibson, who was my North Star, and I’ll never forget it.

Sadly, me and my friends could have been found WITHOUT our kids at a Taylor Swift concert, just like we were the old ladies at a Gwen Stefani concert. Good times.

  28. This is my first visit to your blog, and I now know why you have so many followers. You made me laugh, but what you said is so similar to how I feel about explaining blogging to family and friends. You have a way with words, and I will be back to enjoy more. My three daughters aged 7-10 and 14 would die if they could attend a Taylor Swift concert. Lucky you!

  36. I actually read almost all your blogs. I think I asked those same questions, ” are you a pro blogger”..”do you blog everyday” Sorry!!!
TS was awesome!! I had so much fun even though I have a tween daughters!!

  37. After reading this post, I’ve decided that I would like for you to adopt me. It has nothing to do with the private suite and concert. Nothing.

  38. A private suite? Sounds awesome! What fun memories you are creating with your kids.

  41. I am all of a sudden reminded of my mom taking my tween self to see NKOTB not once but twice, and good heavens, I need to thank her for that, don’t I? Because while the NKOTB boys were cute and knew their way around a dance moves, let’s face it … they were no Taylor Swift. (Glad you had such a fun time!)

  42. my girls would DIE to attend that concert! what a fun outing you 2 had

  43. If only she would have played at an outdoor venue this year around our area I would have taken my 2 little TS fans. You know our 3 year old has a baby doll named Taylor Swift 🙂

  44. I am so very jealous. Taylor Swift is super fabulous! Both of my kids…including the almost 3 year old. I also rarely mention anyone is real life by name., but apparently have no problem putting the kid photos everywhere. I am more concerned about the crazies in the real world tracking us down. 45. We love Taylor Swift! You’re right…she’s cute as a button. Oh and I love that you’ve set boundaries with your blogging. I think it’s really important to set limits. I wouldn’t want my extended family and friends to feel uncomfortable around me, worrying about whether or not I’d post photos or blog about them. Great post. Looks like you had a great time at the concert, you hot mama! 🙂

  46. Wow! You are a professional blogger! I’m impressed. Too bad about the whole “no posting pics of friends” thing cuz they sound like they are hot! By the way… Um, how does one follow a blog? U know, if I was wanting to, say, you know, follow yours… 🙂

  47. That Taylor is awfully cute.

I’m not worried about anyone stalking myself or my kids. If anyone found us through my blog, they’d know enough to STAY AWAY.
