Strawberry Sugar Scrub Recipe {homemade gift idea}

Strawberry sugar scrubs are easy to make, package adorably and are good for your skin!  Homemade scrubs are one of the best gifts ever!  They are my new latest craze {as you know} and after the recent success of my Lemon Sugar Scrub for Mother’s Day gifts, my Coffee Sugar Scrub for Teacher Appreciation, and my cherry and peach sugar scrubs just because, I decided to go all out and try a few more fruity sugar scrubs!  So, here’s an easy-peasy, strawberry sugar scrub recipe (with FREE printable tag) that’s perfect for gift giving!

Strawberry Sugar Scrub

I’ve been making a lot of sugar scrubs in little batches, and this recipe filled up the small Mason jar I purchased in a 4 pack at Target.  I’ve had so much fun finding interesting containers to put sugar scrubs in!  The recipe is super simple.  I love that sugar scrubs can be used on the hands, feet and body.  I like to use sugar scrubs in the shower because they are such great exfoliators and the hot water dissolves the sugar crystals before they can be too abrasive.

Strawberry Sugar Scrub Recipe

Mix Together {this recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups prepared}

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup olive oil, plus 1 TBS
  • 2-3 drops of strawberry aromatherapy oil
  • approximately 10 drops of red soap colorant (I purchased a pack of 4 colors at Michaels for $4.00)

Decorate Jar

I used embellishments I had at home to decorate the jar.  Ribbons I had in my craft supply closet were used to tie on the “Strawberry Sugar Scrub” tag.  The tag was designed by Tricia Rennea exclusively for Seven Clown Circus, and can be downloaded for free!  The sugar scrub was super easy to make and the whole project took me a total of 20 minutes including tying on the printable!  It’s THAT easy.

  1. That looks awesome! I make a salt scrub with coconut oil, sea salt, and lemon zest. I don’t have to put on lotion after my shower when I use it. I will try your sugar recipe when I run out. Thanks for sharing!

  2. That is just beautiful!

  3. WOW that looks better than some scrubs I’ve purchased! Thanks for sharing, totally pinning this. The strawberry tag is perfect too.

  4. Seriously, that red color is to die for. Gotta get me some of that soap colorant and try this recipe.

  5. This is so cute!! This would be such a great Christmas present for all the women in my family.

    • Camille, I made these for all of my kids teacher and the school office staff at the end of the year and they loved them. Great inexpensive gift, plus with the free printables there’s not much to embellishing the jar! 🙂

  6. Looks great!

    Question… do I have to use olive oil? Can I use something else that has less of a strong smell to it? What about coconut oil?

    • Jackie, you can use any oil! I’ve used canola oil too. I think coconut oil would work fine except coconut oil doesn’t stay liquid does it?

  7. Such a great idea Angie, definitely pinning this to make later. Thanks!

  8. Please send me a link from the site with the soap colorant! Thanks!
