My Field Trip

I went on a Field Trip this past weekend.

That’s what John calls a weekend away all by myself.

I got to spend the weekend at the Xona Resort in Scottsdale, AZ in order to attend Bloggy Boot Camp.

Now, this may not sound monumental to you, but to me, this was huge.  It was like a rite of passage.  *I*, Mrs.-35-year-old-herself went somewhere OVERNIGHT without my husband or children.

I have spent one other weekend away without my husband or children, but that weekend doesn’t count.  It was the weekend my dad had a major stroke and I flew to Colorado to see him in the ICU.  He didn’t even recognize me at first.  It was fantastic.  He’s lucky he didn’t recognize my siblings either or I might hold this against him.

Oh.  Did I  mention it was also my 30th birthday?  My dad has poor timing.  That’s the only explanation.  I mean, why else would he have a stroke on MY birthday?

So, back to Bloggy Boot Camp.

I took 5 pictures.  Guess how many turned out?

You guessed it.

One.

One.

I guess I’ll just have to keep the memories alive in my mind.  Good times.

At least you got one & you got the experience of going 🙂 And it’s definitely better than having to worry about your Dad (which sounds absolutely scary). Although maybe your Dad was just trying to help you get a night away from the kids? He just didn’t plan it out as well as a Bloggy Bootcamp.

I’m not sure how you can say that only one of your pictures turned out. The picture of us in your first BBC post looked pretty great to me. I mean, you could totally see me. 🙂

Our time together was such fun, my friend. Someday, we will realize the dream of a computer-free, tropical trip. Just our little group, sun, and sand. It will be bliss.
