My Feet

I think the title says it all.

This post is all about my feet, and I should tell you that I KNOW that I’ve just sunk to a new low.  I blame Mama Kat. She provided the writing prompt this week just waiting to see who was insane enough to write about it.  Mark. My. Words.  It was deliberate.

My feet are not pretty.  Even when I’ve just had a pedicure.  They are definitely not my best asset.  They take me places though, and that is all I care about. Most of the time.

My feet sort of look like I ran into a brick wall with my toes.  At least, that’s what I’ve heard about 1000 times from my siblings.  But, what do they know?  I have seen uglier feet than mine, so they can’t be as bad as they say.

Here’s what I think:  I think that my feet are better than most peoples feet because they are weathered.  And by weathered, I mean that I don’t really need to wear shoes to protect them from the elements and sharp objects because the callouses on the bottom of my feet work just as well as protective gear.

I wear shoes when I absolutely have to.

The rest of the time, I go bare footed.

My feet and I have an understanding.  I don’t try to pamper them too much with lotions and potions and they’ll do my bidding.  Without shoes whenever possible.

  7. so totally agree about feet and being barefoot

  8. Love this. On the rare occasion my feet have seen a pedicure, I’ve lamented the loss of my calluses afterwards. I need my feet to protect me from my shoes!

Angie, I took the bait and did this prompt, too. Maybe it’s just crazy people named Angie ….

  11. not brave enough to include a picture of said piggies eh? lol. having nice feet is over rated. I have nice feet and they’ve never gotten me anywhere. Now having a nice ‘rack’, those babies can take you places… lol.

  12. Haha! Love this! You are so brave. I couldn’t do it this week, just couldn’t think of writing about my feet. You my dear did a fantastic job though!

  13. I just found your blog and I love it! Your posts on blogging tricks are going to save me, I think. Thanks!
BTW…loved the posting about feet. I hate mine, but also despise wearing shoes. I’m a socks kind of gal. Needless to say, I have to buy packs and packs of them because I wear them all around outside. Hm. I just realized that is kind of weird. But it is true.

  14. I much prefer bare feet to shoed feet or most especially socked feet, but my feet disagree.

  15. I grew up in the country and my feet used to be like that & now they’ve gotten all “sissyfied” & I even wear shoes or at least slippers around the house! What have I done??? 🙁

  16. I don’t have pretty feet either. Who has time for a pedi? I wish I could go barefoot more often though. But with snow in the winter, it just isn’t an option around here.

  17. Wait ….. I was expecting some pictures, to go along with that post!

  18. what a funny post.. Feet are wonderful and strange. But I do love to get my toes done..

  19. Laughing over here. I, too, am cursed with ugly feet. But I’ve decided that I think all feet are ugly. Really, have you ever seen beautiful feet? Up close?

Thanks for the laugh. I just added you to my blogroll.

  20. I’ve got some less-than-pretty feet, as well. But once summer arrives, there’s no better feeling in the world than prickly grass tickling my feet, or digging my toes into hot sand in search of the coolness hidden beneath. Barefoot is the way to go!

At least I hope so. I haven’t had a pedi in over 4 years. Shame. Shame!

  25. Bare-footed… Without shoes… that’s what I’m talking about! (Not literally.) 🙂

Blogged with more cardinal pics, but comment luv isn’t working or something.

  26. SO cute that you have a post all about your feet… I did that before, but only because I broke them and needed to vent.

Never underestimate the power of feet. And toes.
Even ones that look like they have run into a wall.

    🙂

  27. I just recently got a pedicure for the first time since before I went into the hospital with the twins, so I hear you on the weathered feet thing! Living in Hawaii has allowed me a barefoot….or “slippered” (hawaiian’s name for flip flops) feet for the last year or so. I have to have pretty toes for that reason….the girly girl in me. haha. I’m not sure what I’ll do if/when we move back to the mainland…closed up toes…I guess my nail shop bill will be minimal then. 🙂

  28. Thanks so much for your post! I have had really, ugly feet all my life, and hated them. After you get to a certain age, though, it’s pointless! I created a website (yeah, ugly foot therapy! ) with some humor-infused info….including “podiaphobia” – yep, fear of feet! Hope you’ll take a peek: http://www.ugleefeet.com.
