Mason Jar Lid Pumpkin {DIY craft}

Mason Jar Lid Pumpkin’s might possibly be the cutest Fall decor ever.  If you have some Mason Jar lids lying around the house and a little burlap it’s something you can make for absolutely free, too.  If you don’t, well, it’s going to cost you a few dollars (24 lids will cost you about $9), but if you are looking for a DIY Fall craft that is to DIE-FOR adorable, the $9 (plus the cost of spray paint if you decide to go that route) is well spent!

Simply Klassic Home’s Junkin’ Pumpkin was the inspiration for my Mason Jar lid Pumpkin.

Supplies Needed:

  • 24 Mason Jar Lids.  (I paid $4.50 for 12 lids.)
  • Burlap.  You can buy a yard of burlap for around $3.99.  You’ll need about 20 cents worth of it!
  • Twine or some string to die the lids together.
  • Spray paint. This part is optional.  I used orange spray paint for the lid rings that I had in my garage.  You could use any color you wanted in a Fall palette or not spray paint them at all.  I used a green spray paint also in my garage to spray paint the burlap leaves.
  • Scissors.  You need to cut the string/twine and burlap into leaf shapes.
  • Cinnamon sticks for the stem.

Mason Jar Lid Pumpkin Step-by-Step:

Step 1: Optional:  Spread Mason Jar rings out on newspaper or cardboard and spray paint if you are spray painting.  Allow to dry.

Step 2:  String Mason jar rings on piece of twine or string.

Step 3:  Bring ends of twine together and tie together in a tight knot so that rings make a pumpkin ring.  Cut excess twine left over.

Step 4:  Cut out burlap leaves.

Step 5:  Optional:  Spray paint leaves.  Allow to dry.

Step 6:  Put cinnamon sticks into center of pumpkin ring to make stem.  I had to break my cinnamon sticks in half so they weren’t too long.  {I purchased my cinnamon sticks at the 99 cent store)

Step 7:  Place the leaves where you’d like on your pumpkin.

Step 8:  Display in your home and ENJOY!
