Making Memories with Photos for the New Year #LifeIsASpecialOccasion

The great thing about the New Year is that it’s the perfect time to create new memories.  One of my New Years Resolutions is to find ways to make joyful memories with my kids and husband in ways that we’ll all enjoy.  Gone are the days when I can get my kids to smile at the camera just because I ask them to, so it’s my goal in 2014 to do things with my family that include fun outings with opportunities to capture the moments on camera.  Sounds easy, but it’s not when you have children who are reluctant to have their picture snapped…..again.

Life Is A Special Occasion

Although I get that not every special occasion needs a photo, memories fade, and I want digit proof of my children’s growth and memories made!  I want tangible proof that we did make memories at odd times and regular times and times in between, too!   Making memories together is important and so for 2014, I want to capture too many special moments to count!  {{smiling}}

Hallmark understands that. They get that life is a special occasion, every day of the year. Hallmark produces cards and products that are more than meet the eye.  And they have for years.  I think that’s one of the reasons they’ve been around for so long and are so beloved!

Making Memories with Photos

I found out that making memories with photos can be easier than I thought if I just let the kids be involved and let them have FUN with the process.

Here are a few tips for Making Memories with Photos FUN.

FIRST:  Allow the kids to decide when they are ready to take the photos.  Don’t force it on them or you are NOT going to get natural smiles.

SECOND:  Go for natural light.  Your pictures will turn out so fabulous you won’t know what to do with yourself.

THIRD:  Let the kids hold the camera and or photo bomb pictures.  You’ll love the angles and expressions that are captured!

FOURTH:  Get a photo app that doesn’t flip the images.  I use Retrica for this.

FIFTH:  Have FUN!
