KRE-O Transformers – Holiday Gift for Boys

A big package arrived on my doorstep this week and everyone in the house was dying to find out what was inside.  Of course, I knew and *I* couldn’t wait to dive in.  My boys are getting the KRE-O TRANSFORMERS Destruction Site Devastator set for Christmas and they are going to be over the moon.  It’s the first small block building set with over a 100 pieces that they will have ever received.  Luckily they don’t read my blog so I can spill the beans.  {smiling}

The KRE-O TRANSFORMERS Destruction Site Devastator Set has 650 pieces to assemble.  Or, in other words, 650 pieces of involvement.  I can’t wait to see the three boys work together to figure out how to make all the colors and shapes work together to build either characters or vehicles once all the presents are unwrapped.  The set is designed for kids ages 8 – 14.  My twins are on the young side at 7, but I have a feeling I’ll be be muscling my way in for some playtime as well, so I can help out.  {wink}   My 9 year old is the perfect age, so I think he, especially, is going to be thrilled and this is going to be right up his alley.

KRE-O Transformers Set Includes

The Destruction Site Devastator set comes with enough bricks to build

  • 1 MASSIVE Decepticon robot Devastator
  • 4 Construction Vehicles
  • or 4 Constructicon robots featuring your favorite Autobots and Decepticons.

So, the same bricks can be used to build the robots or the vehicles, but the robots don’t transform into a car or vice versa once it’s built.

The KRE-O Transformers pieces have working parts! For example, the bucket on Scavenger actually slides up and down and the tread rolls when you push it across the floor.  Also, the faces on the KREON figures have square jaws which make them look cool and the arms and legs have ball joints so the movement is really fluid.  Additionally, no batteries are required {big bonus in my book} and kids need to follow direction so the gift is a bit didactic {in a good way}, and they’ll never know it.

Connect with Hasbro on Facebook or on Twitter!  If you are interested in finding additional KRE-O Transformer sets, you’ll find them all in the Hasbro online store. The big sets make fabulous Christmas gifts and the smaller sets like the Cycle Chase and the Decepticon Ambush are perfect for beginning builders, ages 6 and up. If you are looking for a great stocking stuffer, the KREON Micro Changers Mystery Bags are just $2.99.  Each bag contains a random KREON figure which can be convert into an alernate mode like a jet or an insect.

Great gift idea, right?

    Savor the sudden flrury of wins, Joe! That sounds like a heck of a two week ride. I doubt you’ll be coming down from that ‘high’ even if you want to. Especially the news about the largish six-figure deal. That’s something I certainly dream about, and probably every other fiction writer who is not already a bestseller dreams of it too.But I think I understand, a little, about having a rush of good things happen after a very long time struggling. For me, it was 17 years of unpublished toil, and in the last 60 days I had my break-in pro fiction sale plus a second, perhaps even more important pro fiction sale; to a market even some of my long-time pro friends haven’t been able to crack!I am hoping to keep the “balloon” rising in 2010 and score some more sales. But it feels mighty, mighty good to be finally cracking through with some significant wins of my own.
