Humiliation, thy name is Mother part Deux

WARNING:

If bodily function scenarios gross you out, check back tomorrow. This one is not for you.

In case you missed “Humiliation, thy name is mother” part one, read here.

I was in the mall recently when I heard these dreaded words,
“mom. (_ _ _ _) in my pants”.

I knew it was a mistake.

He would never do that in his pants.

But he did.

He was sick.

So we dashed out of the store. I was holding two little hands and trying to run/drag them down the mall corridor and outside.

The whole way there was a drip, drip, drip.

And I almost vomited.

And after I cleaned him up and threw his clothes away, there was the added insult to injury.

I had to go back in the mall and call maintenance to clean up.

And then I almost vomited again when I saw that people had walked through it.

Bad mommy. Poor baby, and POOR, POOR person or two who walked through it.

And just so you know, I didn’t learn my lesson from Part one. Yep. Parked the darn double stroller with the twin dogs right next to the dressing room door again. This time though, I caught the door before I was exposed. Again.

  2. Laurie M. says

Oh, wow, what a day for you!

  3. That happened to us too a few years ago. But at least it was at the doctor’s office and not the mall. LOL.

  4. Oh, no. I’m so impressed you went BACK to ask them to clean it up…I might have just kept running…for the hills…never to return again.

  5. Jeremiah R. Jones says

[sound of vomit splattering across keyboard]

    huuuhnn…

    Thanks for sharing.

  6. Yeah, I don’t think I would have gone back in to call maintenance. That’s over and above in my opinion…

  7. jenni anne says

i would have just found a new mall to shop at for the rest of my life. hope your little man is feeling better!

  8. Yikes, I believe this falls under TMI…I think you need a bath and a good book!

  9. 🙁 I say with empathy, I feel for you. Those are the moments you just pretend you are somewhere else,as you exit the building. what else can you do?

  10. What an absolute nightmare!

  11. I’m with Rhea, I’m impressed you went back in there! You deserve a ding dong.

  12. Horrid!! You are a good mom. I would have been out of there so fast!

  13. Mother’s deserve some sort of award. Seriously.

  14. Philigry says

oh no! it sounds like you handled this very, very well.
P.S. I also love the pee shot! so funny.

  15. Oh my goodness! Poor Mama and poor little guy too. That is a nightmare! Your kids are really puttin’ you through the humiliation wringer aren’t they? Good thing they’re so cute…at least that’s what I tell myself:)

  16. oh you poor thing. and poor baby. and goofy people for not looking where they are walking! lol

when you said you almost threw up it reminded me of last week when
my youngest pooped in the tub. he was so proud of what he had accomplished. anyway i threw up while trying to clean it up. *sigh*

well i hope he is feeling better.

  17. Now that is a terrible moment indeed. Sometimes you just wish you were not the mom.

By the way my girls opened the curtain of my dressing room on me last week. I was trying on swim suits! So I was totally and completely naked! AHHH! What you will not learn through wisdom you will learn through experience.

  18. mannequin says

Oh dear. This makes my story of infantile projectile vomiting on the businessman suit pale in comparison.
Hope the little guy’s all better!
    (As well as the mom)

  19. Don Mills Diva says

Oh no – I feel awful for both of you – poor little guy!

  20. Good & Crazy says

Let’s all collectively imagine shopping alone. Without. The kids.

    *Sigh*

  21. Poor baby! I think you should be commended for going back to clean up! I don’t have much sympathy for the people who walked though it surely they should be looking where they are going!

  22. MoziEsmé says

Oh shame! Poor baby! I’m thinking I might just have gone and driven away pretending I didn’t notice anything unusual.

  23. Mmmm, I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Good times. I thought my bad day of having no tampons and no diapers (got my period, baby b had pooped) and having to dash to the department store all stinky was special. Boy oh boy did you top that.

  24. First, a margarita, a nice bubble bath and a really good book for you while DH puts the sickie to bed, then I’d say a trip to the hairdresser and the store are in order – time to dye your hair jet black and buy a whomping big pair of sunglasses in preparation for your next trip to the mall LOL.

  25. EWWWWWWWW.

  26. Oh NO you poor thing! TO BOTH stories! And your poor little man. 😛 If I was you, I’d be afraid to go to the mall ever again. LOL

  27. carrie & troy keiser says

    Oh man!

  28. If I smell vomit, I vomit.

  29. I am so sorry that happened! My happenings always seem to happen when I am not prepared. Extra clothes, wipes, underwear, etc.

  30. Ok, your little boy must have the same yucky sickness my boys, actually the whole family has had. Poor guy, your so good to call maintnance, I probobly would have tried to never look back. Hope he’s feeling better.

  31. Sorry, me again. I forgot to let you know, I just send my sister n’law that’s pregnant with monoanmniotic twins your e-mail and blog addresses. She was so excited to hear that your was a success story. Thanks!!!

  32. I can’t imagine. Though Ryan has had a public moment or two similar to yours, I have not been so lucky as that. You are a saint. Poor baby, both of you!

  33. Awh! Poor things! People stepped in it. Angie, seriously, that is so freakin’ gross and totally hysterical at the same time.

  34. Cecily R says

Ewwwwww. At least you went and talked to mall management. I think I would have just skeedaddled as fast as humanly possible and pretended it was the other, kid…

  35. Casey's trio says

yikes…how thoughtful of you to call maintenance and have them clean it up. I’m not sure I would have gone back to take care of damage control.

  36. And this is why we blog.

To know we are not the only mom’s out there that this crap happens to!

    (No pun intended!)

  37. Oh shudder…the horrors. What a truly crappy day. HA!

  38. Churchill says

You have no luck at the mall. Poor poor Angie!

  39. raising4boys says

Poor thing! Not a good situation!!

  40. Poor guy..Yeah I would have thrown up……Ahh the stories we live to tell as mothers:).

  41. Gunnisac Sandersons says

Haahaahaa. I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t have laughed, but that is funny.

  42. Yikes that is really terrible….

  43. Wow! What a trooper! Enjoy your SITS love today!

  44. Vie Chaotique says

I have only changed one diaper in my life and it was horrific. The child had been constipated so the mother gave him raisins and then left entrusting the angel to me. When the “hijinx” occured I swear the child was not the only one in tears. I have never had to hold anyone’s hair while they were sick and vice versa. All this is to say being a mom is truly hard work and I could never do it. Good luck!
