Home. Safe and Sound.

I feel a bit like a warrior princess.

Or not.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m feeling a bit proud of myself.

I did something that I’ve never done before, and surprisingly, it went really well.

I would have much preferred for Jeff to be able to come with us to Utah, but since he couldn’t, we made the best of it.

The five 5 kidlets and I drove 9 hours each way to visit what family we could and to go camping with my dad.

We went, and we went and we went.  As in, we stayed really busy.

And had tons of fun.

At the end of the day, we all kind of looked like this:

Which is actually a good thing.  It means we played ourselves useless and then woke up each morning and did it again.

And enjoyed almost every minute of it.

We did miss Jeff you know.

  1. Awesome Angie!!! So glad to hear that you had a wonderful time and everyone did well too, hooray! I’ve done the long drives by myself, and potty stops are always challenging. I have had some good trips, some bad. This last trip home from UT was on the bad side. Glad yours was a success and you had some great family time.

  2. They are SO cute. I’m glad your trip went well and that you had a ton of fun.

  11. glad you survived. hope it was ‘all that and a bag of chips’. or at least worth 18 hrs. in the car. for the record, I still think you’re crazy.

  14. Good for you! Glad you enjoyed it. You should be proud, camping is hard. We are doing the go and go and go thing right now as I sit typing this the Dudes are napping…ALL OF THEM after spending the morning romping on the beach. Ahhh, nothing like the sound of silence. Scratch that, the sound of kid silence being interrupted by the hard cor heavy metal blaring from the neighbor’s beach house. Whatever. Kid silence is worth it!

  15. You are a crazy lady. I can’t believe you traveled that far by yourself with 5 kids!! Now I feel kind-of lame complaining about traveling by myself with my 2 kids! Geeshhhh…

  16. sometimes those crazy things just totally work out, and that’s perfection. like those sleeping boys
