This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Biz Stain & Odor Eliminator for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Now that baseball season is in full swing I have more reason than ever to require a stocked laundry room shelf of BIZ® Stain & Odor Eliminator.  Biz cleans up to 80% better than washing with a detergent alone. Biz contains more stain fighting ingredients, and it's proven to work better on tough laundry stains. Biz has lab tests to prove it.

Since #3 wears white baseball pants and does a lot of sliding, Biz definitely comes to my rescue when I need it.

bizchallenge

BIZ® IS Better and Here's Why!

It's formulated to handle all four types of stains.  So, Biz takes the hassle out of figuring out whether you need a enzyme, peroxide, whitening, or detergent based stain fighting agent.  Biz works on EVERY kind of stain.  Plus, Biz just got an updated logo and color scheme which looks pretty snazzy.  I love how it looks on my laundry room shelf.  {smiling}

sliding stain

{Our most common stain:  dirt from sliding.}

BIZ® Works Great on These Stains:

  • dirt
  • grass
  • sweat
  • coffe
  • juice
  • sauce
  • gravy
  • spaghetti sauce
  • lipstick
  • blood
  • baby food
  • greasy food
  • &  more

How to Pre-Treat Laundry:

1.  Re-wet stained area with warm water.

2.  Apply Biz directly to the stained area.

3.  Rub gently and wait 5-10 minutes before washing normally.

biz6

{If you can believe it, these are the same pants you see above pre-treated with Biz.  They haven't even been washed yet.  AMAZING!}

biz2

Tip:  Keep a bag handy that can "house" clothing that needs to be pre-treated.  We have a "Biz" bag that my kids put particularly dirty clothes in.  I know when clothing is in the "Biz" bag they need extra attention!

Things to Love About BIZ®:

  • If you find a stain remover that works better than BIZ®, they'll refund your money.  {love}
  • When you add Biz to every load, you can boost the power of your detergent by 80%.  {that's a WOW-ser percentage!}
  • Biz contains no bleach and no phosphate.
  • Independent studies prove Biz fights tough stains better than Oxi Clean®!  {{this used to be my go-to stain agent}

The Biz Challenge Results:

{Baseball pants washed using only normal detergent.}

{Baseball pants pre-treated with Biz and then washed normally.  WOWSERS!}

Speaks for themselves, right?  Biz took out stains that my normal detergent didn't.  Biz works.  Plain and simple.  I'm SOLD.  Are you?

How to Throw a Divergent Birthday Party is super simple and inexpensive!  Especially, with these free printables from Amy Locurto.  My first born just turned 13 and there couldn’t be a better theme to choose.  The new movie release based on the best seller made for a perfect timing, although I have a feeling this Divergent will stand the test of time.  We kept the party low key by inviting only a couple of friends, going shopping at her favorite outdoor mall, watching the movie, eating dinner, and wishing her a happy birthday with cupcakes at home. This eliminated a lot of decorating since I only had to decorate a dessert table.  {{yay!}}  So, if you are wanting to throw a Divergent Party, this post should give you plenty of ideas to get you started!  ”I am selfish, I am brave!” Which faction will you choose?

Divergent Party

Decorations

Decorations

For decorations, I purchased three yards of gray chevron stripe fabric at Hobby Lobby and used my pvc pipe backdrop to hang the fabric over.  All of the printables I used were from Amy Locurto.  They included cupcake toppers, an editable invitation and two 5×7 signs.  I framed one of the signs in a white picture frame purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Cupcakes

Since there were only a few girls I cheated and purchased her favorite cupcakes, red velvet, from Panera.  To add a touch of pizzazz I used two cupcake liners to accent them with the addition of the cupcake toppers.

The Dodgers are our team.  We seriously love them.  Every single member of my family is a Dodgers fan, and that’s saying a lot since there are SEVEN of us!  Jeff tries to take the boys to as many games as he can during the season, but we’ve NEVER gone all together as a family.  Until now.  When ScoreBig introduced me to their service, I realized that this was my chance to get great tickets at a great price for all of us! {{fabulous!}}

ScoreBig

scorebig

At ScoreBig you are guaranteed to save on sports, concert, theater, Broadway, family show and attraction tickets.  There are NO FEES, and free delivery, so the price you want to pay is the price you actually pay!  Additionally, you choose your seating area, and although you don’t get to choose your exact seats, you don’t need to worry, all seats ordered together are seated next to each other.  Unlike other sites that sell event tickets, at ScoreBig, you have control over how much you pay for your tickets, and that’s pretty darn cool!

dodgers11

What I Love:

scorebig

I love that you can choose the type of seats you want based on the price and then enter the price you want to pay per ticket.   Seats are categorized in Star categories.  The higher the star rating, the better the seats (and higher price of the tickets).  Once you select the level of seating you’d like you can put in how much you’d like to pay and you can get an idea of whether or not your “bid” will be accepted.  Once you place a bid, you’ll find out instantly if it’s been accepted!  As you can see, my chances of paying $35 for $60 seats was not very high.  I ended up paying $49 per ticket for my seats.  Remember, at ScoreBig you don’t have to pay any service or delivery fees.

I also love that they emailed my tickets to me so I didn’t have to wait for tickets to arrive in the mail or go to will call.  I’m sure each situation is different, though.

Other things to Appreciate:  ScoreBig has a live chat feature on the site if you have questions which is super helpful!

My Recommendation

If you like to control how much you pay for your event tickets, and you hate to pay service and delivery fees,  I’d  recommend giving ScoreBig a try. The website is super user friendly that it’s almost a shame to NOT use it.  {{smiling}}

P.S.  The Dodgers WON!

Kid Friendly Easter Dessert Recipes
Author:
Recipe type: Easter Dessert
Cuisine: Cake
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 12 to 14 people

Ingredients
  • Frosting:
  • 3 sticks (12 ounces) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 6 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • Pinch fine salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
  • Bunny:
  • 2 baked 9-inch round cake layers (your favorite recipe or a 18.25-ounce boxed cake mix)
  • 1¼ cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • 2 store-bought biscotti
  • 1 tube pink decorating icing
  • 2 black jelly beans
  • 2 marshmallows
  • 1 white jelly bean, halved lengthwise
  • 1 pink jelly bean
  • 1 black licorice wheel, such as Haribo
Instructions
  1. For the frosting: Combine the butter, sugar and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment (or in a large bowl if using a hand-held electric mixer). Mix on low speed until mostly incorporated. Add the vanilla, increase the speed to medium-high and mix until smooth. Adjust the consistency with milk until the frosting is easy to spread.
  2. For the bunny: Spread a thin layer of frosting on the flat side of one cake layer, about ⅔ cup, and top with the flat side of the second cake layer. Measure 5 inches across the top of the cake and cut down through the layers, creating two layered pieces that are slightly different sizes.
  3. Place the larger piece of cake, cut-side down, on a large platter or cake board. If using a rectangular cake board, place the larger piece so that the long edges are parallel with the long edges of the board. This is the body of the bunny. Cut the smaller piece of cake in half crosswise, so you have two layered wedges. Place one wedge in front of the body, with one flat side on the board and the other flat side against the body. The curved side will be on top. Take a serrated knife and round off the sharp edges on top of the head. Cut the tip off (the nose) at a 45-degree angle. Reserve all scraps in a bowl.
  4. Separate the layers of the remaining wedge of cake. These will be the back legs. Round the sharp edges of the cake wedges with your knife, and add to the scrap bowl. Place one piece on each side of the bunny, with one flat side down and the other flat side facing forward (the round side towards the back of the bunny), about 1-inch from the end of the bunny’s body.
  5. Mix the cake scraps in the bowl with a fork until mashed, and then pack into a ball with your hands. Place the ball behind the bunny’s body and adhere with a dab of frosting. This is the bunny’s tail.
  6. Frost the entire bunny, tail and all, using 2 to 3 cups of the frosting, keeping some definition with the bunny parts, and frosting more generously around any sharp edges to give a rounded look to the bunny parts. Sprinkle the bunny with the coconut to fully cover. Gently pat to adhere.
  7. Insert the biscotti between the head and body, pressing into the cake to secure them. These are the ears. Place the base of the ears close together at the center of the head and angle them out. Frost the front of each biscotti with some frosting. Then, using the pink decorating icing, frost a smaller strip in the center of each biscotti, going down to where the ears meet the head but not going all the way to the top.
  8. To make the face, press a black jelly bean into each side of the head for the eyes. Cut one of the marshmallows into 3 circles, discard the middle piece, and press the 2 end circles, cut-sides-in, into the front of the face for the bunny cheeks. Take the white jelly bean halves and push them into face below the cheeks, round-sides-out, for the teeth. Place the pink jelly bean above for the nose.
  9. Unroll the licorice wheel and cut 2 pieces about 1½ inches long each. For each piece, peel the strips apart halfway down, and then cut each separated strip in half lengthwise so you end up with a piece looking a bit like a broom. Repeat with the second piece of licorice. Tuck each piece, with a dab of frosting, behind a marshmallow cheek, with the cut ends facing out, for the whiskers.
  10. Cut the second marshmallow in half lengthwise. Make 3 slits in each half, going about halfway through (these are the toes), and place in front of the legs for the bunny’s feet. Adhere the bottom of the feet with icing if necessary.
  11. Cook’s Note:
  12. Take 2½ sheets of parchment paper and cut in half. Line the edges of your cake board with these parchment rectangles so that they form a rectangle of open space in the middle. Build your cake on the edges of these pieces of parchment. When you are finished you can slide them away along with any excess icing and coconut.
  13. Make sure your cakes are completely cooled before you being to ice and cut them.

Sugar Cookie Bunny House – How cute is this bunny hutch?  The best part is that the roof is detachable so it can double as an Easter basket.  Made with a buttery cookie, this bunny house will make your kids squeal in delight as they decorate.  Good luck trying to get them not to sample as they go…..

I have never been shy about admitting that I have a little thing about clean.  I wouldn’t say I’m compulsive, but I would say that I get uptight when my house is dirty.  When ePantry offered to let me try their service for free {they send me the cleaning products I wanted} I jumped at the chance.  What’s better than getting the cleaning supplies I love delivered right to my door?

epantry

ePantry

epantry

ePantry is a new service that makes purchasing quality household products like Method, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day, Seventh Generation and Green Forest super convenient. In just three minutes {seriously, just three minutes}, they create a customized, flexible schedule for your household products.  They then get delivered to your door for cheaper than the grocery store while helping to save the rain forest!

What I Love:

epantry
The number one thing I love about ePantry is that the website is so user friendly.  Not only is the interface super intuitive and easy to navigate through, once you select the brand you like, you can really narrow down the products to choose from.  Also,  there is a customer support available all the time so if you have a question, they have an answer.

Other things to Appreciate:

  •  There are no service or maintenance fees
  • ePantry saves 25 square feet of rain forest with each shipment.
  • If you tell them a joke, they’ll give you $2 off your order.
  • Prices are super competitive so you can count on getting the best pricing.

How It Works:

ePantry delivers sustainable household products straight to your door when you are running low.  Their handy dandy calculator knows when you need your products and they ship them on a schedule.  Of course, you can change or cancel your shipment at any time.  Also, if you don’t like a product, they’ll refund it.

Order in Three Easy Steps

Screen Shot 2014-03-26 at 9.23.12 AM

1.  Answer a few questions about your household.

2.  Choose which products you want ePantry to send you.

3.  ePantry suggests a schedule, but you can change it to reflect what YOU want.  So, ePantry will suggest when you should receive your next shipment based on your household information.  If you don’t like that date, you can change it.  Easy.

My Recommendation

Ordering my favorite cleaning supplies and then having THREE months delivered straight to my door was so nice.  I hate running out of the things I need when I clean, and this service completely solves the problem.  Plus, it saves on time and gas that I’d waste running out to buy more.   I’d  recommend giving ePantry a try. The website is so user friendly that it’s almost a shame to NOT use it.  {{smiling}}

If you’d like to give ePantry a try, enter the code “SevenClownCircus”  at checkout and you will receive 25% off your first order and free shipping!!!

Connect with ePantry:

Disclosure:  ePantry sent me enough cleaning supplies to last me a few months!  {{fabulous}}  However, you’d better believe all thoughts and opinions are my own.  {{smiling}}

Now that baseball season is in full swing I’ve turned to dinner options that are quick, filling, nutritious and full of flavor.  Lucky for me, Oscar Mayer introduced Deli Fresh BOLD flavors lunch meats in March. Deli Fresh BOLD lunch meats contain no artificial preservatives, no artificial flavors and are gluten free! I’m a huge fan of the simplified ingredient list and bold, spicy flavors. The sliced meats are freshness sealed, and at least 97 percent fat free.   So, I can serve my large family sandwiches for dinner without guilt!

Here’s my Mediterranean Turkey Sub Recipe, which you really have to try.  The flavors are delicious.  Nothing in the sandwich is over powering, all the flavors compliment each other, yet the flavors are bold enough to make the sandwich dinner worthy. {smiling}  This is not just and sandwich, y’all!  The best part is that it’s easy peasy, and pretty darn healthy to boot!

Mediterranean Turkey Sub Recipe

TIP:  The first thing you’ll want to do before my making this recipe is to pick your Oscar Mayer Deli FRESH Bold Meat.  I used Italian Style Herb Turkey Breast, but the sandwich would be equally delicious with either of these flavors including:  Cajun Style Turkey Breast or Chipotle Season Chicken Breast.  {{they also carry Maple Honey Ham}}

Mediterranean Turkey Sub Ingredients

med turkey sub

      • Deli Fresh Bold Italian Style Herb Turkey Breast
      • Deli Buns or French Sliced Rolls
      • Basil Pesto
      • Yellow Cherry Tomatoes
      • Fire Roasted Red Peppers (sliced)
      • Deli sliced golden Greek peperoncini’s
      • Green Olives
      • Lettuce

Directions {step-by-step}

Note:  Make one sandwich or many.  If you are feeding a large family or group, I’d recommend lining up your sandwiches and putting them together like an assembly line.

medsubb

Step 1:  Open and spread pesto on bottom of bun or roll.

medsubc

Step 2:  Cut tomatoes in half and then layer vegetables on bun or roll.  If you don’t want to use cherry tomatoes (I like the flavor), just use regular tomato slices.

medsubd

Step 3:  Fold Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Bold Italian Style Herb Turkey Breast slices in half and layer over the vegetables.  Fold the top of bun or roll over the turkey and garnish with olives.  ENJOY!

Visit OscarMayer.com for more information on various product offerings, or connect with them on Facebook or Twitter!

who to do a rope braid

1.  How to Make a Rope Braid –  How to Make a Rope Braid that doesn’t fall out or unravel just takes the right technique and twisting.  My daughter made this quick video tutorial to show you how, and if you follow her easy instructions, you’ll have some beautiful twists or rope braids in a matter of minutes!  I just love how this looks, and I especially hove how the hair looks after it’s been in these twists after a few hours and is taken out.  Lovely.

2.  How to Make a Heart Braid - How to Make a Heart Braid is easier than you may think.   I think this is my favorite braid ever, and it’s EASY.

3.  Dutch Princess Braid - How to Make a Dutch Princess Braid  is a fun hair style for those that like pretty feminine braids that don’t take a lot of effort and leave some of the hair unbraided and flowing.  A dutch braid is like a french braid, but it looks more bulky (in a good way) since the braid is inverted.

4 Strand Braid

5.  How to Make a 4-Strand Braid - How to Make a 4 Strand Braid is a twist on a regular braid.  It looks super cool, but it’s hard and takes a lot of practice.  The practice will pay off though because everywhere you go you’ll get a compliment.   Remember, keep practicing and eventually you’ll get it!

 Waterfall Braid

6.  How to Make a Waterfall Braid - How to Make a Waterfall Braid is just like a french braid but with a dropped piece that makes the braid look like a waterfall, which is really cool.  It’s super easy to do but it looks like it took a long time so it has lots of wow factor.   The waterfall braid is one of my new favorites!

Dutch Braid

9.  How to Make a Dutch Braid – How to Make a Dutch Braid is similar to making a French braid.   The braid is on the outside, rather than the inside.  Practice makes perfect!

12.  Braid Without a Pony Holder - How to Make a Braid without a Pony Holdersometimes also referred to as an Organic Braid, is a braid that doesn’t use a pony holder to secure the braid at the end.  It’s a great braid to use to secure your hair when you want it out of your way for any reason, especially if you don’t have a brush because you want your hair messy to start.  It helps the braid stay in.

15.  How to Make an Easy Side Bun –  How to Make an Easy Side Bun actually works best if you haven’t brushed your hair so it’s not super slippery.  It’s meant to look a bit sloppy, so the effect you are going for is NOT sleek and perfect. We love how it looks with a bow.

16.  How to Do an Upside-Down Braid Into a Bun {hair tutorial} -How to Do an Upside-Down Braid into a Bun is my absolute favorite Up-Do style for the summer.  My thirteen year old daughter started doing this style on herself this spring and then tried it on me this week and I’m hooked.  If you know how to french braid, you’ll be able to do this style with ease, if not, here’s a video tutorial (you just have to do it upside down).  It just takes 3 steps and you have a gorgeous up-do that’s not fussy and lasts all day.

17.  How to Make a “Twisty” Bun {hair tutorial} - How to Make a “Twisty” Bun is one of my favorite Up-Do styles for the summer.  My thirteen year old daughter does this style for me and it never fails to draw tons of compliments.    The undo is perfect for the summer because it gets your hair up and off your neck so you’ll stay cool, and it also looks really pretty.  I just love that this “twisty” bun can be dressed up or down.  It’s super simple to do, too!

18.  How to Make a Sea Shell Flip Bun {hair tutorial} –  How to Make a Sea Shell Flip Bun is a great Up-Do styles for the summer because it looks so summery.  The silhouette actually looks like a sea shell and of all the updo’s my daughter does for me, I have worn this one the most. It can easily go from casual to formal, and that’s one of the things I love most about it.  Here’s how to make a Sea Shell Flip bun, with a video tutorial for making a princess lace braid in case you don’t know how.  You can also make this braid without the braid and it looks lovely.

19.  How to Make a Staircase Bun/Braid {hair tutorial} - How to Make a Staircase Bun/Braid is a fun Up-Do style for the summer, and I can almost guarantee you won’t find anyone else with the same hair that day.  This hairstyle requires a dutch braid on a diagonal so it’s a bit difficult to do it on yourself.  If you have a friend or daughter that loves to do hair, I’d get their help with this one!

braided sock bun

20.  How to Make a Braided Sock Bun {hair tutorial} - How to Make a Braided Sock Bun is the most time consuming of my top Up-Do styles for the summer.  It’s easy to do, but takes a bit of time because it requires a few small braids within the bun and those will take a few minutes.  The pictures don’t really show how pretty the braids are within the bun.  They really pop and add dimension to the hair do that is unexpected and super pretty.  I just love the braided sock bun up-do!

It’s been three and a half years since Bisco became a part of our family.  I always used to scoff at people who talked about their dogs as if they were family members.  And now those same people can laugh at me, because Bisco is a HUGE part of our family.

My kids learned that persistence pays off because after two years of sweetly asking me for a dog, I caved.  Jeff and I chose him out of his litter when he was only 6 weeks old.  He was such a sweet little thing.  He looked like a little ball of coal, and unlike his sisters who couldn’t stop wiggling, Bisco was perfectly calm.  Even though we went to the breeders with the intent to buy a girl, his natural disposition won Jeff and me over.

Bisco also learned that persistence also pays off because last year I suddenly realized that I’ve made him FAT.  My secret of feeding him treats when no one was looking suddenly didn’t look like such a secret anymore.    I’ve had him on a diet for awhile, but I can hardly stand it.  My poor, sweet, lovable guy deserves treats occasionally, so I bought him some.

And he loved the EverPet Wavy Bacon Dog Treats MORE that should be legal.

He “shook” for them.  He jumped for them.  I do believe he would have done ANYTHING for them.  You can purchase EverPet treats at Dollar General, too!
