How to Throw a Cowgirl Themed Birthday Party

4.  Food Tables –  The food tables were decorated with the same tablecloths and bandanas from the Dollar Store.  The faux barbed wire was from Oriental Trading Company.

5.  Cake – This was the first year my sister didn’t buy the birthday cake from the bakery!  I think it turned out adorable and delicious.  So did everyone else.  There wasn’t a morsel left.  The cake was one layer of strawberry and one of white.  Sorry, folks, this cake wasn’t from scratch so there isn’t a recipe.  Both cake mixes were from Duncan Hines.  A box of vanilla pudding mix was added to each cake as well as an additional egg.  It surprisingly makes the cake really moist.

Extra Touches

6. Homemade Chocolate’s! Rachelle bought a molds from the candy store and then used candy melts that she purchased at the same store.  Melt in ziploc baggie for 30 seconds, knead and melt for another 30 seconds, cut tip of bag and then pip into mold.

7.  Gunny Sack Races – Because you know that no good Cowgirl Party would be complete without at least one gunny sack race.  Head on over to your local feed supply store and pick up a few sacks {or better yet, pick them up while you are grabbing your hay bales!}

And that’s How to Throw a Giddy Up Cowgirl Themed Birthday Party.

    This looks like so much fun I want to go! I’m out of the party throwing business for my kids (just invite your friends over and run in the backyard awhile, then maybe I’ll feed you) but this is making me want to actually sit and plan a theme based party this year.

    It’s darling, for sure, but ChuckECheese bday parties are more my style…

    One question:
    how many bottles of wine were consumed when creating this most amazing party?

    Your kids have the coolest birthday parties. This one was just as spectacular as the Paris themed one. Particularly homemade touches really add a nice element and keep things unique.
