Confessions of a Scary Mommy – The Book

Confessions of a Scary Mommy by the one and only Jill Smokler  {Scary Mommy} will be released on April 3th.  I tried to get her to have it published for my birthday {April 1st} but for some reason she couldn’t make it happen for me.  {weird, right?}

Anyway, you know how sometimes you are so proud of someone you could just, I don’t know? Spit? {who came up with that saying anyway?}

Well, I’m super proud of Jill. It’s not every day that one gets to see a true friend actually publish a book and experience with them the unbelievable process. Jill has worked so hard on this book, met so many tight deadlines and managed to stay absolutely true to her voice through it all.  Plus, she’s still sane, still funny, still sweet as ever, and forever will be.

If you haven’t already, you can pre-order her book now!  In case you didn’t know, pre-ordering books is great for authors.  It’s how publishers know how many copies to print and what stores to put them in as well as how many publicity stops they should make.  So, not only will you save a few bucks, you’ll be helping the author.  And, since every author is a friend to someone, it’s like you are almost directly helping a friend.  {don’t you love how that works?}

P.S   If you pre-order the book before March 31, you are eligible for a hand-signed, limited edition bookplate and bookmark.  Plus, there’s more.  More details on Scary Mommy.

Also, I’ve read the book, and I can tell you that it’s a really GOOD book about Motherhood.  The “confession” portion has a nice mix of really enduring, really funny, and shockingly true aspects of motherhood, but my favorite parts of the book are the “memoir” portions.  I felt like I was standing on the sidelines watching a favorite mom evolve, and that’s pretty darn special.
