These chewy chocolate chip pretzel cookies are a new favorite. I’ve been wanting to make chocolate chip pretzel cookies for some time, but most of the recipes I found make crunchy rather than chewy cookies. I like chewy, cake like cookies so I took matters into my own hands. I added broken pretzels to the top of my favorite chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe and I LOVE how they turned out. Adding a little sea salt to the top would make these really good, too. I believe these might be my new favorite cookies. I highly recommend trying this recipe out yourself. The recipe calls for corn starch and I *think* that’s what makes them so fluffy and tall.
Chewy Chocolate Chip Pretzel Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 tsp.vanilla extract
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 4 tsp.corn starch
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Baking Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cream together butter and sugars until light in color and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and blend. Mix in flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Using a regular sized cookie scoop, drop dough onto a cookie sheet. Press broken pretzels into top of dough balls. Bake for eight to ten minutes, or until the edges are just slightly brown. Don’t cook longer than 10 minutes unless your scoops are huge. Let cool. Makes approximately 65 cookies.
- Enjoy!
What’s with all the recipes? Is this a cooking blog now? lol. The look good, but I’m too lazy.
Yum! I love a good sweet and salty mix and I bet that sea salt would be a great little addition. I’ll have to try these for sure 🙂
Wow, those look dangerously delicious!
Looks delish! I’d rather mine chewy too.
