Jacob and John never stop talking to each other.  I am not kidding.  They talk to each other from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed.

jacob and john

They always have.

jacob and john

It’s actually super sweet, and I love it.  Most of the time.  Sometimes though, I wonder how they even find things to talk about.  But they do.  I really hope they never stop.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting our early Spring.  I realize that it’s been a WHOLE lot colder a whole lot of other places, but I’ve been SO cold this winter.

It even got about as close to snowing as it gets in this parts last week:

Then, right when I thought I couldn’t take another cold-ish day, my twins came home with these {cutest school project ever}, and it just seemed a little bit warmer, and a whole lot more like Spring was right around the corner.

Is it starting to feel like Spring where you live?

Bet it feels like all we do around here {in January} is celebrate birthdays.  It seems like that to me too.  :)

#2 celebrated her 11th birthday last week,  ending the month long dinners, lunches, parties and various celebrations that accompany the day of their birth.

I love this girl to pieces.  I’m in denial that she’s 11, though.

If you have a minute, I’d LOVE it if you’d leave me a comment with age appropriate websites for kids on this post!  I’m making a “white list” of safe sites for my kids to visit online using a new plugin by CocoonKids for KlaasKids.  Here’s where to leave the comment!

    cambria coast

We took a quick weekend trip up the coast a few weeks ago.  It was really nice to get away after the holidays and just spend time together as a family without all the hustle and bustle of toys and shopping and events.

    solvang

We stopped in Solvang on the way up and ate our fill of Danish food and then stayed in Cambria for the night.

We sampled Olallieberry (hybrid of a raspberry and blackberry) jam and pie and then drove along the coast, stopping along the way to see the Elephant Seals near Hearst Castle.

I blinked another time and #3 turned 9.  I swear to you, I can’t figure out where the 24 hours in each day goes!

    Garrett turns 9

I don’t know what I did to deserve such a good kid, but he’s been the sweetest, kindest, most well behaved kid around since he was born.  I’m one lucky mama, that’s for sure.   He definitely resembles his dad in the looks department, but clearly he takes after me in the “what I want to do for my birthday” department because we spent the day eating at his favorite places to celebrate the day he entered the world.  :)

Grace became a teenager last week.  I don’t know where the time went.  I swear to you that it was just a few years ago that it was New Years Day of the New Millennium and I was joyfully ringing in the new year 90 lbs. heavier with thoughts of the impending birth of my first baby!

Here were are 13 years later and I have a beautiful teenager on my hands that I couldn’t be prouder of.  Truly.  She is such a good girl.  I just can’t. believe. she’s a teenager.securedownload7

For her birthday we went out to lunch and ice skating.  Well, she and her sister and cousin ate lunch and went ice skating.  I sat in the wondering where the time went and how it’s possible to gain that much weight in 9 months.PicMonkey Collage23

Wordful Wednesday – Christmas Card Pictures 2012

My Christmas Card Pictures for 2012 almost didn’t happen.  I made two appointments with my favorite photographer and both had to be cancelled.  I was on the fence about sending out cards at all.  It’s been a crazy-busy time, and frankly, I’ve been pretty darn stressed lately.  I didn’t know if I wanted to bother.

    But, I couldn’t not.  I LOVE receiving Christmas cards, and I’m convinced that if I stop sending out cards, I’ll stop receiving them.  Plus, some of my kids are no longer willing and compliant when it comes to taking pictures.  I have to hold firm at least once a year and demand a group photo.  {smiling}

So, this year, I snapped the shots.  Which means this years pictures are only of the kids.  Of course, this is just fine by me, now,  but I just know that next year I’m going to be kicking myself for not having a full family shot.

So, now I have some photos…..I just need to work on the cards.  I guess I’d better get on that.  :)
