So, you can imagine that I have certain, shall we say cleaning routines and products that I adhere to and have to use? {laughing} When I clean, I get in and clean. I don’t use gloves. I don’t use mops. I use my bare hands and a wash rag and sponge/scrubber, so I’m picky about the

Thanks to Gymboree for providing these outfits for my twins for Spring!

1. Drink Water- I used to drink a lot of water. My habit was so fabulous in fact, that I never drank anything else. It was rare for me to even take sips of soda. And then I re-discoverd a love of soda in 2012. A few sips turned into drinking half a can of soda which turned into a whole can which turned into a habit, which needs to be broken. So, in 2013, I want to kick my diet soda habit and get back into the habit of drinking plenty of water. Plus, I have five kids I need to think about. How can I expect my kids to not drink soda if I constantly have soda around?
2. Eat Healthy Snacks- I have a serious sweet tooth. When I feel like a snack, I’m much more likely to reach for a piece of candy than something healthy and that’s just plain not good for me. I don’t want my kids to get into bad habits like me, and I certainly don’t want them to think that since we are thin we can eat what we want and it doesn’t matter. It does. So, I’ve started buying healthy snacks like Quaker® PoppedTM. I can serve them with fruit and still feel like I’m eating something sweet. {The snacks are made with whole grain brown rice and corn and are popped, not fried. They come in a bunch of flavors (14) like Sweet Chili, Tomato Basil and even Vanilla Creme Brûlée.}
3. Prepare My Own Jam- My kids pack their own lunches and half the time they bring Peanut Butter and Jam Sandwiches. By making my own jam, I can moderate how much fruit and sugar they are getting in their jam, and that’s one more step in the right direction.
4. Juicing- My husband has totally embraced juicing. The health benefits are not to be taken lightly, so in 2013, it’s my goal to embrace juicing as well. I just think it’s going to take me (and the kids) a bit longer to love green juices than it took him because there isn’t any sugar in those health filled juices, darn it. {{laughing}}
