Back-to-School Teacher Appreciation Gift

Every year I make sure that my kids take in a little something for their teacher the first week of school.  I think it’s a great way to try to butter their teachers up right off the bat, AND I think that they (the teachers) deserve a little something.  It can’t be easy to teach school, and those first few weeks of setting expectations and rules MUST be grueling.

This year my sister found the cutest printable for a jar of something.  We decided to fill our jars (3 pack on sale at Michaels for $4.99) with premium dark chocolate/mint M&M’s.  We (and by “we” I mean my sister) printed out the lid labels that say, “Teacher Treats-To Share, or Not to Share” (you can find them here).  Next we cut out the lid top printable with a circle cutter, adhere’d it to the lid, and attached a cute tag with the teachers initial on it with 3 types of ribbon.  It turned out really well.  So super cute.  And the best part?  I got to spend the day with my sister and have something cute to show for it.  Plus, I think the teachers are going to love it.  And, it only cost $5 per jar including the candy.

With this gift, I’m hoping for a great year,  full of promise and learning.  May the teachers remember the sweet gift bestowed on them this week and decide to make my children their pets.  Forever and ever.  Or just until the year is over.

It’s not wrong to do everything in my power to get the teacher on their side, right?  🙂

    Ok…Loving these!!

  2. You are so good! I should have done this 🙂 Yesterday we were on day 7 of school and I already showed teach what a flake this mama is. They are having color days that they have to wear a certain color every day and I swore yesterday said blue but 1st thing baby girl said when she got off the bus was “It was GREEN day Mama!” Thankfully she accepts me (still) for my flakiness.

  3. too cute!

  4. Those are adorable!! I come from a family of teachers, so I appreciate that you appreciate teachers. 😉

  5. oh i am all about bribery! whatever works right?

  6. super cute…and that definitely would have buttered me up!

  7. Buttering up ‘the man’. Good job. I like to take the ‘I’m watching you’ approach by volunteering in the class once a week…. I mean, sending my Mom in to spy on them.

I’m kidding. My kids all have awesome teachers this year. Awesome.

  8. I’m a 5th grade teacher and would absolutely love to get one of these!! What a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

  9. These are so cute! My kids started 2 weeks ago…now I’m wondering if it would still make sense to send something like this after a couple weeks as random appreciation. I’m thinking yes.

  10. I love this idea! I would be so tickled to get one of these from a parent. 🙂

  11. I love this idea! I have saved it so that I can use it when teacher appreciation week rolls around in the spring. What a great printable!

Garbage certainly seems to fit the bill, and the “Oracle” has apparently decided that Republic Services is the best of breed in that sector.
