And They Are Off…

That’s right, people. My number 1, 2 and 3 started their new school year. Finally.

Don’t get me wrong. I loved having them home for THREE WHOLE months, but, it was time. For all of us.

Thank goodness for the chaos of getting three children to their respective classrooms. Otherwise, I might have considered getting a little teary eyed. There’s a first time for everything, you know. As it turned out, there were a lot, and I mean a lot of red-rimmed-eyed-parents. Lots of excited kids, and a few that were not so excited. Thank goodness mine fell into the excited category. I don’t know what I’d do if I had to drop off a crier. That just tugs at the heart strings a little TOO much.

(She wasn’t happy at first about being in a 4th/5th combo, but her smile is telling me a different story.)

(Second grade? No way!)

(Can we say Kindergarten?)
Oh. Oh. The best news of all?

My main water line burst last night.

Oh yes. No water. Let’s just say that getting the kids out the door was interesting.
AND, I just discovered a bald spot on my head the size of a quarter. Can we say freak out?

  1. Ick, school. I was a crier… and I'll be a crier as parent too! I had severe panic attacks that were linked mainly to school my entire school-aged life. It. Was. Awful. I'm talkin' serious stuff(councelors, psychs, meds… the whole nine). It makes my heart pound uncomfortably just looking at these pictures! Though, again… you have some seriously GORGEOUS children. They get me every time with their beauty!

  2. I simply cannot stand how gorgeous your children are. It's kind of crazy. I'm a crier, too. Didn't expect to be, but I am.

  3. So fun. I can't believe how big they are getting. Tell Grace the combo classes were Aunt Tiffs favorite.

  4. parentingBYdummies says

Well that blows, about the water line. Good thing it wasn't your Internet that went out! Seriously, I can go a few days without water, but not Internet! Kill me already. Hope school went well:)

  5. You're going to cry, I know I would! Your kids are beautiful by the way. And…lots of hand sanitizer until your water comes back on:)

  6. I was mistaken in my last comment… I thought the little uggas were headed off to kindergarten! Sorry!

On a side note- your kids have the "California beach look" down pat! So cute!

  7. Nicole O'Dell says

    They look gorgeous! 🙂

    So sorry about the waterline!

  8. No water during the first week of school mornings…THAT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW!

  9. Cute pics they all look happy. Now lets talk about getting together and using that pool…LOL

  10. sassy stephanie says

Oh man, that hat is bigger than he is! They all look so happy!

  11. Aww they look cute!

Our water line broke this past Winter, yeah, so not fun, had to have my yard dug up in the middle of the winter, my yard was preeettty nasty looking during the process, nothing like nasty brown snow everywhere. Luckily the grass grew back fast this spring. But our water pressure hasn't been the same since, not to mention we have now gone through 2 water meters since. Oy!

  12. I am sorry to hear that you had a damp start but it sounds like everyone looks great and ready to go:-)

  13. Gorgeous children! I love your oldest daughters hair. She should be in shampoo commercials.

For Emma, she was unsure of school the first week, but now she comes home just brimming with stories and excitement!

  14. I am having a hard time leaving a comment..blogger!
So what I meant to say was good luck holding and fluffling your twin cotton balls and missing your twins terribly for the little tidbit called kindergarten especially on early day! And your kids are all grown up ahhh! YOur daughter looks beautiful with that smile and that awesome hairdo! And your younger daughter is looking so grown up and practically your amazing twin!
Baldspot…holy crud. That same thing just happened to my daughter I was sorta freaking out but I think she just pulled it out accidentally or something cuz she has some tiny growth back in the bald spot.

  15. yeah they all made it. Sorry to hear about the water break.

  16. LOL what's up with the bald spot?
    LOL you poor thing.
    The kids are beautiful.
I hope they have a great year.

  17. THE Stephanie says

Ok, all of your kids are just gorgeous, but your oldest?? OMG! Look at those curls! I would give my right arm for those!

She reminds me of Ashton… they look so much older than they really are! How do we stop this????

  18. Soon to be Mrs. M says

Your girls have absolutely gorgeous hair! So pretty!

  19. I just have to say…I refer to my kids often by their birth order #s. That stuck out to me. 😉 Your kids look absolutely gorgeous for the 1st day of school. I can't believe #1's curls!

I am SOOOO sorry to hear about your water. What a nightmare! I will be praying that it gets fixed very, very quickly.

And your bald spot?? Could it be from stress and being over-worked?? 😉

  20. The imPerfect Houswife says

Your kids look so cute!!! And even though my kids are big now (17, 19, and 21), I'm glad to see that I'm not the ONLY one in the entire blog world that doesn't homeschool! There's nothing wrong with it at all, but that's all I ever see anymore. I love my kids dearly but boy do I like having my house back. Yeah, my bad. Have a great weekend ~ ♥

  21. Awe, they're adorable! You left a comment on my site that the pictures weren't coming up. I checked and they seem to be working fine. Please check again and let me know if you still have trouble. Thanks!

  22. Your school aged gang are so darn adorable. I love the angle of the shot of your son.

Ugh on the water main break. And what is with the missing hair??

  23. Casey's trio says

Love the first day of school pics…and Grace's hair is to die for. Love it! And Miss Emma looks so much like you-adorable. Garrett looks like a little skater boy…totally appropriate for LA 🙂
Hope you aren't knee deep in water over there

  24. Your pics and so cute and YAHOO for them going back to school or is that a Yahoo for you! 😉 Hope you water line gets fixed soon that just stinks!

  25. They all look so cute!

  26. Great first day photos. Eeek to the bald spot – better get your stress in check or start some Rogaine!

  27. I always wear sunglasses the first day so no one can see what a wreck I am.

And that bald spot has got to be from sleeping funny and no shower to fix the be-head. Right?!

  28. I hope you get your water fixed soon. Your kids are adorable. Have a wonderful school year.

  29. Adorable kids! The first day of school is rather hectic. But I seem to have less of a problem getting them up and there on time that first day. We are into school 3 weeks now and getting my second grader out of bed is like pulling nails out with your teeth. I just read your post from yesterday. Um, well I would fall in the same category as you. I worried a little with my kindergartner this year but I didn't shed any tears, and the letter was pretty cheesy.
If you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.

  30. Wow, three in school! How exciting and well, busy! Glad everyone got off to a good start.

And are you sure about this bald spot thing? Certainly not… 😉

  31. Angie, your kids are GORGEOUS! Your younger girl's hair is such a pretty, amazing color. I hope she loves it!

Okay, the water line. That completely sucks. WTF????

    Justine 😮 )

  32. brunger bunch says

YES…I did cry when mu kids went to kindergarten, and I think I might be weird when I say that I think I will cry the hardest when my last one goes. I love being home with her!! I hope they are all loving school. I cant believe how late they started. Sorry about the water line..hope it is a quick fix:)

  33. Aw… he started kindergarten…

A bald spot and broken water lines. But the kids look good!

And there's just something about that middle redhead I LOVE. She's so pretty!!

  37. Live.Love.Eat says

Congrats to all the schoolers!!!!!!!!! Awesome. But not so awesome about the water. Yikes. They look so pretty and handsome, even if they didn't have showers 🙂

  38. Life with Kaishon says

I love, love, love those pictures. They are so cute : ) And I do hope they have a wonderful year. The beginning is always so exciting, right? : )

I think I am balding too. My hairline. Sometimes I think I might be a boy. And then I feel ill!

  39. sharp250@juno.com says

A bald spot? Really? Weird!! I am on hold for that Graceling book at the library so excited!!

  40. School is the best! We had no tears here on our end (my one and only started Kindergarten) and we are both so happy. What lovely photos!!!
