Bathroom Facelift

by Angie on March 1, 2010

I hesitate showing you what my master bathroom looked like before it received it’s mini face lift.

But I will.

{A highlight for me has always been the diarrhea colored walls.}

The master bathroom was one of the last projects on our to do  list because of the amount of work that needed to be done to re-do the bathroom, not to mention the expense, which equals a HUGE chunk of change.

We’ve been using our bathroom for the past seven months without mirrors, towel racks and a vanity.  We’ve showered in our sunken tub/shower that had the most appalling grout and caulk imaginable because we didn’t want to waste time and energy doing any work on what was going to be demoed.

Jeff and I both hit our tolerance point this weekend and got to work on the bathroom.

We called it our Valentine’s Day gift to each other.

I gave him the gift of a newly painted bathroom, and he gave me the gift of new baseboards, window casings, towel racks, and most importantly NEW caulk.

I just listed a bunch of jeans on ebay that I never wear anymore. If you wear a size 27 and want a great deal on designer jeans, be sure to check out my auctions.

It’s still not complete, but it’s a HUGE start.

My Scrapbooking Giveaways are ending soon…..
Memory Mixer software and album $75
PremadeHandmade card kit and die set $50
*Shey* [B] Camera Strap Slipcover Certificate $20

It’s amazing what a face-life like that can do! It looks wonderful!!

Two question for ya–what size is a 27 jeans (I’m a 6??) and I tried to download that plugin you recommended for responding to comments but it was in half japanese or chinese!!??? Did that happen to you? I was afraid to download it in case it had a virus.

I was amazed that a little paint, new caulk, trim and a little elbow grease can really work wonders. :)

Size 27 is a 4.

That plug in is partly in Chinese or something, it looks scary, but it’s not. You won’t get a virus. :)

I like the bathroom very much. This makes me excited b/c we are going to start our basement soon. I can’t wait for some much needed more space.

Wow! Its amazing what a little paint and a few hours of labor will do huh?! I have never seen a sunken shower though………

Have you even been to Glendale AZ before? I’m here now and trying to find something to do!!!!

I love the transformation! I am still laughing over your wall color description. That is not a very attractive color for a bathroom. ;)

Those stupid drawers are back in there. When I took the picture I hadn’t moved them in yet. Eventually we’ll get a vanity with real drawers. :)

Oh god, our re-done bathroom looks worse than your “before” picture. Now I have bathroom jealousy… it looks fantastic.

Laughing. Unless you have the same terrible color on your walls, I’m skeptical. :)

I really like what you guys did to the bathroom. I like the newer color much better! We have to do our bathroom too. I hate that we have just a stand up shower. I so miss a bathtub. Hope you have a great Monday.

Love the green. It’s one of my favorite decorating colors.

This week I’m tackling some projects of my own. I hope they look as great as yours!

I think you both did a fantastic job. The bathroom looks great! The new wall color does not evoke visions of diarrhea and might I add that you can never underestimate the importance of good caulk! Yup, I said it. Bad caulk sucks. Good caulk rocks!
Congratulations on the bathroom facelift. There’s nothing worse than having to get naked in an icky bathroom. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. :)
