Luck? Or Divine Intervention?

{THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED LAST WEEK-I forgot to publish.}

I made 3 batches of blueberry lemon scones for my daughters class yesterday.

After I had zest-ed and juiced the lemons, added them to the mix, and made the glaze, I realized my lemons were actually limes.

I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true.  My husband’s grandpa has a lime tree that produces these amazing YELLOW, lemon sized limes.  For real.

Anyway, by the time I had figured out that I had just made about 50 blueberry LIME scones, it was too late.  No way was I going back and making making new ones with lemon.

I was a bit harried anyway {since I had to fit making scones into my already busy day} when something started nagging at me.

The handle from my sugar canister was off when I started baking and although the handle was in sight, the screw that attaches it was not.

I started thinking…..”was that a metal hitting metal ding I heard when I added the sugar?”

“Surely not.  But possibly”.

If there was a screw in my batter, I’d know it though, right?  When it was mixing I would have noticed it.  When I was dropping the scones on the baking sheet, I would have found something foreign, right?

Wrong.

I pushed that nagging feeling aside and forgot all about it.

Until today.

When I took 3 batches of scones to my daughters classroom where all of the students in her class and their parents partook of them.

And my daughter brought me a metal thing that she found in HER scone.

I’m left wondering if the fact that she got the scone with the screw in it was LUCK  or divine intervention?

I would have been horrified if someone else got the screw thingy in their scone.  I would have died if someone got hurt by it.

I’m going to call it a little of both and call it a day.

I’ll try to remember this lesson in the future, too.
